Thank you all for the birthday love - I had a fantastic weekend full of Mambo Taxi's, drunk karaoke, too much food, naps, and of course Bundt Cake {the new flavor is so good!}. Madison made sure that I got a new shiny hot pink bike, our new neighborhood is perfect for family bike rides!

I promised to share my favorite pre and post workout items this week, here ya go!

I'm one of those girls who needs a good shot of energy before I go to the gym, I've tried a lot of pre workout and these are my favorites, I rotate depending on the day/workout.

STRONGEST: Mr. Hyde Intense Energy Pre-Workout .
This is not for the faint of heart - you will sweat just from taking it. So I love this on days that I'm only lifting, it gets me nice and hot {and a little red faced}. I love the Cotton Candy flavor - they do have a 'cleaner' version but it tasted terrible. The downside to this one is when it wears off you crash pretty hard. I don't recommend this for cardio - I felt a bit like my heart was gonna explode or I might throw up.

STRONG: Cellucor C4 Ripped Pre Workout  + Beyond Raw LIT
These are nice because you can feel a bit of a tingle and they are build-able {I can work up to 1.5 or 2 scoops}. I love the Blue Raz flavor and the Gummy Worm for the Lit.

This is probably my favorite for daily use - you don't get any tingle from this one, but it literally has me pumped and ready to tackle my day for HOURS. No crash!!! The fruity flavor is nice and goes down easily.

BSN Amino X  {Tropical Pineapple}

I drink this during my workout - it's BCAAs to help with muscle endurance and recovery, but for real the selling point to me was THE FLAVOR! It's like a virgin drink by the beach, so good. I love a good strong flavor when I'm dying and it's hot outside.

Post Workout

I like easy and nothing beats the convince and taste of premier protein shakes! The macros are great, my favorite is caramel but I just stocked up on the new flavors so that may change. Sam's is having a sale on them right now - $16 per pack! I love to throw the chocolate in the freezer while I workout and then have a frosty shake right after.

Pure Hydrolyzed Collagen Peptides

I mix of scoop of this in my afternoon yeti of tea, it's 'unflavored' but still I wouldn't drink with just water. This was recommend to me for knee pain and I noticed a huge difference in my daily life pretty soon after starting this supplement. It helps with general aches and pains, plus added bonus it's good for your hair/skin and has protein. Highly Recommend!

Why you need an AIR FRYER!

My Avalon Bay Air Fryer is the most used gadget in my kitchen - even more than the oven or microwave. I've taught both Oliver and Madison to use it, if they can master it I believe you can too. This is the second air fryer I've owned, the first had a touch screen that I was not a huge fan of, instead I prefer a dial. I store mine on my pantry floor when not in use, the handle at the top makes it easy to put away.

What the heck is an air fryer? It cooks food with hot circulating air thus causing food to come out crispy. This is great for lots of food - frozen or fresh. The downside to an air fryer is that you can only cook limited amounts at one time - you shouldn't over fill the fryer basket or things take too long to fully cook and dry out. Also it's kinda hard to figure out what temp and how long to cook items, not a lot of directions out there. SO I usually do 400 and start with 8-10 minutes and check every few minutes after, once you cook things a time or two you will remember.

A family favorite is chicken nuggets! Madison begs for them, I'm happy to see her eating so much protein! I cut fresh chicken into chunks {usually during meal prep Sunday, leave in the fridge and dish out a portion as I make a meal}. I place some on foil {parchment paper didn't work well for me} sprinkle with truffle seasoning {found here!! No I don't have discount code, I'm sorry! well worth it!} spray with coconut oil lightly  and cook at 400 for about 12 minutes.

If you love Mexican food you need to follow Sarah Fit After 5 - she's the queen of air frying tortillas and topping with yummy items, plus her DRIZZLE y'all.

You know I'm pretty obsessed with my two ingredient dough - Greek Non Fat Yogurt + Bob's Red Mill Low-Carb Baking Mix. You mix half a cup of each and that's FREAKING IT. So good as pizza dough or bagels. I followed SkinnyTaste's recipe for bagels in the air fryer and they are so good - cut in half and make a breakfast sandwich with eggs and Canadian bacon, super high protein meal!

We love Trader Joe's Orange Chicken - even better crispy from the air fryer. Alexa Sweet Potato french fries - a Sunday favorite with our burgers. Plus when I have to make chicken nuggets shaped like Dinosaurs for the toddler man baby - I can easily pop in 2 or 3 and cook in just a few minutes. Just don't taste them because THEY ARE DELISH. I'm sorry, but they are!

Somedays I just don't want to spend a lot of effort on my meals - meat, potato, with cheese usually is filling and satisfying. These potato's are already diced, I just weigh out on foil, season, cook at 400 for about 8-10 minutes. When they are almost done throw some cheese on for a minute. You can spiral sweet potato and air fry for a healthier french fry, just spray with coconut oil and put some sea salt on!

Burgers are super easy in the air fryer - but only 2 at a time! I season and place directly on fryer basket, cook at 400 for 6 minutes per side.

I'd love to hear what items you love to cook in the air fryer?

Hair Tutorial + Favorite Products

Finally, a hair blog post! I get asked pretty much everyday about my hair so hopefully this will help answer all your questions.

Oh Monat, so many opinions on this product both GREAT and TERRIBLE. I had to give it a try so I could voice an opinion - I paid for my products {even on sale is was $$$}, but even if someone gifted me them my opinion is honest. I fall somewhere on the fence about this product, my hair was NOT super damaged going into use. Yes my hair felt the cleanest ever and it did stay cleaner for about 4-5 days vs 3-4 with my regular shampoo.

I had a LOT of people send me the horror stories - I'm pretty sure there is even a FB group for people who claim this product destroyed their hair, I haven't actually looked it up, but it sure did put some fear in me.

After about 3 months of use I decided not to buy another set, I just don't think the benefit [for me] was worth the dollar bills.

**Amazon store on the upper tabs no longer works - you can find a link in my IG profile or by clicking here.

My hair is super fine and very very straight  - so I love anything that gives me volume BUT doesn't make it gross so I can go more days in-between washing.

Bumble and Bumble Pret A Powder Shampoo I can't live without this product, I put it in on day one after blow drying. It gives just enough texture to give your hair some umph, but unlike the PuffMe it doesn't leave my hair sticky! Worth all my pennies.

Aquage Uplifting Foam is great for washing days, it's powerful but not too sticky or stiff in my fine hair.

I rarely use hairspray - I find it doesn't do much in the Texas humidity and tends to make my hair feel dirty faster. If I do braids or some type of updo I will use Kenra Volume Spray.

And I can't forget this purple shampoo - it's BOMB for keeping the yellow to a minimum!!! AG Hair Colour Care Sterling Silver Toning Shampoo I use it once a week, it can be drying so don't overdo it!

I have several wands, but I use different barrels a lot depending on my mood. The sassier I feel the tighter my curl.

Nume is more expensive, but usually you can google and find a discount code.

This is a $40 set I got off Amazon and it works really well too if you don't want to invest a ton, ELEHOT Curling Wand Iron Set

I also have  The Beachwaver  which has a tiny clip to hold the end of your hair while you press the button and the barrel turns automatically for you. I find this easier on LONGER hair, it's a bit tricky to get those shorter parts when it's above your shoulders.

These are not the cheapest, but I only will put my hair in a pony with one! There are serval brands, I've found the cheapie ones are not as good. I've found them at Ulta + Target also - Invisibobble Traceless Hair Ring  I use them at the gym and I also always put my hair up at bedtime so it doesn't get all flat on the sides, this bobble helps to decrease the dent in my hair.

Here's a tutorial on how I curl my hair, you can also click here to watch on YouTube. I am using the Nume wand 25MM barrel.

While I'm quite enjoying my blonde hair for now, let's take a little trip down memory lane in honor of #TBT

when I put my bra on top of my shirt to mess with madison.

also, where are these booties?? I forgot about them!
