Meeting at the Bar.

The weekend started pretty good, Friday was crazy busy and somehow I managed to muster up enough energy to pick up the toys. It's just a fantastic feeling to sit down on the couch and know the house is picked up - Aiden's at the 'pull out everything and drop it' phase. The balls in the house multiply over night too.

Saturday I went for a run before Crossfit, came home and made a 1 carb waffle - Oliver begged for me to make him one with his favorite protein powder and I have to say it was DELISH! The Protizyme powder is super fine and mixes up really well, the flavor was great!

We spent the morning swimming before Madison's soccer game, the temps are already going to hit triple digits this week. After soccer we stopped for snow cones, went home to nap for an hour before heading to dinner.

It was Aiden's first time at Babes Chicken and he made the most of it, the corn, the potato, the salad, and the smoked chicken. He's got his money's worth!

I was meeting up with some ladies who drove in for the Cycle Bar class on Sunday - my Babes girls as I now call them in my head. I love that it was just a laid back chill dinner, nothing fancy - I didn't even brush my hair. Oliver tagged along and talked about his love the whole time - CF and macros. We came back to the house for a little shopping and gossip.

Sunday was cycle day - Cycle Bar invited me to fill a class up for a free ride.

So that's what we did! I've done lots of spin classes at different gyms I've been too, this is my first time at a cycle only kinda place and I loved it! Having great bikes, clip in shoes, and loud music makes all the difference. It was an hour long class and I worked up a great sweat! I liked that they had a TV that shows the class stats, you can compete with each other, and they even email you the link to the Spotify playlist they used!! I'm ALWAYS on the look out for new music.

It's a little weird for me to do meet ups with large amount of people, I always feel bad that I don't get a chance to talk to everyone. I love getting to meet so many people who follow my journey and even more when they are local! I've met so many great women and it's just a great community we have going - online and then in real life.

I really really wanted Hash House afterwards, but the wait was insane so we walked over to Katy Trail Ice House and got sat immediately.

The drinks were cold and the food was good - the company was a bit stinky ;) Just kidding Poppy, you smelled like roses.

Overall it was a fun day, I got to meet new friends and try something new. I have a to do list 3 miles long this week, we leave for Flordia on Friday. I think it's more stressful to fly even though driving 16 hours sounds terrible too - trying to pack enough but not too much is hard for 4 people. Do I take a stroller? Can I rent one at Disney? What about my protein powder, bars, other need food items? I'd like to pack my essentials, but I don't want to pay for all those baggage fees on the airplane either. Then I have Oliver's fear of flying to contend with - so 3 children on the plane.

Oliver insisted on a night flight so we leave at 8:30pm and arrive at midnight -  with a 2 year old who is not going to be happy to be missing his 9pm bedtime. Orlando does have a hotel in the airport so I rented a room there hoping that will be easier then renting the car and trying to drive somewhere at 1 am with tired kids and a drugged husband.

I think we decided to only do one park at Disney while we are there, Magic Kingdom was the most recommended. I'm mostly excited to just see all my family, there will be about 20 of us so lots of great memories to be made! If anyone has recommendations of fun things for all ages - minus Disney - to do in Orlando please let me know :)

  1. Check out the springs in the areas. Depending on where you are staying they are a fun experience! I've done blue springs, and delone(spelling) which you can make pancakes at as well as swim. theme park wise besides magic kingdom is the water park which typhoon is better than blizzard beach. Enjoy! Oh and stop at Jeremahs ice! Scoop froggy frog is my favorite

  2. You can rent strollers and have amazon packages shipped for your protein bar needs. We did that a year ago and the delivery was waiting for us in our room upon check in.

  3. Meg if Aiden loves corn you should take a stroll through the farmers market. They have amazing corn on the cob! Maybe even grab a few goodies to cook/grill (if you will be staying at house).

If you are needing a sweet treat, you should check out

You are just as sweet and full of life in person as you are on your blog and scopes. Thanks for scheduling a day with those that have followed your journey.

  4. They have strollers at the entrance of every park! Also you can bring protein powder and bars, they usually don't even check them. Animal Kingdom was my favorite, you have to do the safari ride. The kids will love the real animals! Plus it's the most shaded:)

  5. We used this company when we went to Disney: https://www.orlandostrollerrentals.com/ It worked great, they deliver it to the lobby of your hotel and you can just leave it there when you are done! Magic Kingdom is so fun w/ kids! Have a great trip!

  6. I had so much fun at the Cyclebar class yesterday! I know you had lots of people who wanted to visit with you, so we didn't get a chance to chat. Have a great time at Disney! Yes, you can definitely rent strollers at the park and they are worth it. Get a double stroller and both kids can relax (they will need it). Go early if you can with the kids, to beat the heat. I just realized I have never spent time in Orlando outside of Disney, so I don't have any great recommendations besides have FUN!

  7. Since you have a rental car, Cocoa Beach and Kennedy Space Center are only about a 45 minute drive from the Airport. There is always a nice breeze and the beaches are nice and clean. I live out on Merritt Island and do the daily commute to the Airport. Have a great trip and fun in Orlando no matter what adventure you choose.

  8. We are going to Disney in November. You can rent strollers. The people at Disney said you can order stuff (food/snacks/water) from the Amazon pantry and have it delivered to your room.. We are going to do that! That should help with the packing but probably need to order today! :)

  9. Do Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney). Lots of shopping, viewing, and a bit of everything. Get fast passes at Disney if you can. Make sure you ride Splash Mountain, Snow White Mine Train Ride and try a Dole Whip. It is pineapple ice cream.

  10. We shipped our snacks, etc out there ahead of time and worked like a charm to make sure we had healthy snacks everyday! Even shipped cereal for the kids so we didn't have to eat out for breakfast.

  11. There is a place that's pretty fun in International Drive, Wonder Works. It's like a hands on science museum type place. And its inside in the A/C!! And tons of dinner shows, I've been to them all & liked all of them. Don't waste your time going to Old Town or "The Fun Spot" as its advertised as, its flat out in the middle of the ghetto & sketchy as hell. (it used to be a fun place, not sure what happened). There really is so much to do in Orlando, you will not get bored! I only live a couple hours away from Orlando, so we go there pretty often & will actually be there this weekend visiting Shamu!! :)

  12. We rented from Kingdom Strollers, and it was SO easy. Check them out! I don't recommend renting a Disney stroller (they're just molded plastic), when you can get a City Mini just as easily. :)

  13. We just got back from Disney! We rented a double jogger stroller from Kingdom Strollers. They were easy to work with and the stroller was waiting for us at our resort. It was cheaper as well then renting from the park everyday. They have singles and doubles to choose from. My 7 and 3 year old were happy I got the double...Disney is exhausting! Have a magical time!!

  15. For the past two years we have rented from Apple scooters. http://www.applescooter.com/Stroller.asp?U=&Reservation=&Venue=Orlando&Stroller=YES. I know it sounds crazy but they are trying to break into stroller rental and they only charge you $5 a day for insurance. That's its. The first year I was sure it was a scam but they delivered and picked up right from my hotel. And I got a city mini double. I have a 6 year old but I swear he used it more than my 3 year old. Disney is huge and tiring!!!

  18. I live in orlando and have disney passes. My suggestions are: go to Crayola Experience. It is all indoors and there are things for both of your children's age groups. If possible go to the Magic kingdom first thing in the AM then go back in the evening. Less crowds at these times. Also you can take food into the park so you are not spending a ton of money on snacks. There are healthy snack options near the presidential hall ride. Blizzard beach is fun too but I like to get there really early and snag a good spot and then leave around 3 pm.

  19. Disney pass holder and local here. You can rent basic strollers at MK. Agree that you must buy a Dole Whip in Adventureland next to the Magic Carpet ride. Best treat at Disney! You can pack food and drinks, even bring a cooler as long as there is no glass. Any counter service restaurant will give free cups of water when asked, they don't taste fantastic so I just bring packets of crystal light and mix it in. That way you don't have to carry a ton of water bottles. Book your fast passes early to make sure you get your must do rides! Early in the morning is great time for short lines. We go at rope drop (opening ceremony at MK 15 min before park opening), stay until lunch and then leave to go swim and nap at hotel. Then come back after dinner to enjoy the night. Helps avoid meltdowns from kids and parents! Let me know if you have any questions! Have a great trip!

  20. I'm from the Orlando area and a Disney Passholder.... Crayola Experience is a good one when the kids need to get out some energy and creativity, but you want to be indoors. It's actually pretty fun for adults, too. Plus, there is an American Girl doll store in the same mall. Their cafe is really good.

I second the Dole Whip! The best! Also, split a chocolate and caramel covered apple with the family (you can ask them to cut it up for you). My favorite treat at Disney!

Depending on where you are staying, there is also Legoland. It's in my county.

Feel free to let me know if you have any questions! allamericanjess@gmail.com

  21. When we went to Disney, we went to Target and bought and inexpensive stroller when we got to Orlando. Target is also a great place to get Disney souvenirs. They have lots of cute stuff and are a heck of a lot cheaper that the stuff at the park.

  22. https://www.orlandostrollerrentals.com/ They do stroller rentals. They deliver to your hotel and pick it up as well. Good quality strollers too, like BOB and BabyJogger CitiMini's. It is sooo easy!
