Body Fat + Skin Removal.

My Mom sent me a toe selfie yesterday after her pedicure - the blue text is me the grey box in the middle is my Dad {they have their phones connected and it's super annoying}. Anyways I could NOT stop laughing at this, I almost pee'd myself. Shit - I'm laughing again now.

Then Monday was trying to get me down so we had a little fun on Periscope yesterday, the last time I wall twerked I was pregnant with Aiden.

Amanda was kind enough to make a college of screen shots for me, let's just say I have some #werk to do.

Then I went to 5pm Crossfit and got super sweaty - my day ended on a really great note.

This was me last Fall - I had my body fat tested and it was around 19%

I went this last Friday and got retested and I was around 23% and I'm about 152 pounds. At first I was really bummed, but when I stop to think about it between then and now I've had surgery {boobs = fat just so you know LOL  I asked} I've had Thanksgiving and Christmas - multiple out of town trips and I started working from home. What that boils down to is I wasn't being super consistent for long periods of time.

I decided this was just what I needed to reignite my fire, I've found a new workout I absolutely love. I love that Oliver is working out and doing macros with me, he's always been supportive but I will say it's just better doing it together.

I was REALLY bummed I actually lost muscle mass, not a lot, but even any is frustrating. They suggested less cardio - but I can never give up on my girls. Running is more than exercise to me, we laugh, we cry, we sweat, we are friends and I'm not willing to give that up just to be more muscular. I'll find a way. I've been slacking on my Catalyst  - I ran out and kept forgetting to order - you better believe I ordered a bunch!

I'm halfway through my Diet Bet and I'm slowly getting there, I plan to keep my lower {cutting} macros going until I go on vacation July 4th.

After that I will be going back to maintenance to prepare for my surgery July 26th. I've decided to get skin removal surgery, I want to do it while the kids are out of school and if I don't do it now I would have to wait another year. I went back and forth on doing it for a long time, but I had a friend who did it after a large weight loss and she told me the day she saw it for the first time at the doctors she cried because she didn't know her body could look that good. After hearing her story I realized I wanted that for myself.

I hesitated sharing it on here because I know some will of course think I'm being selfish and should just be happy with what I have. It is a selfish thing to want done, but I don't think there's anything wrong with being a little selfish in your life, I give a lot of my self to every one around me. I do things for others, I love with my whole heart, I gave life to tiny humans, I'm allowed to live the rest of my life with the body I want - I worked for it.

So what I'm having done is called a 360 - the scar will go around my entire body. The majority of my extra skin is on my hips and thighs - they will pull the top down and pull the bottom up and the hope is that it will tighten up my outer thigh area.

They will do the same to my stomach area, I was VERY worried about the belly button, but my doctor is confident I'll be pleased with mine.

I'll be out of the gym for 6 weeks, but it's going to be during the hottest Texas months {another reason to do it then!} and after running + Crossfit today in the heat I won't be sad to stay home! Oliver's on board, but I'm gonna owe him big after this :)

  1. My friend had this done after losing lots of weight. She was very pleased with her results and very glad she decided to be "selfish".

  2. Go for it girl! You work so hard! I am lazy and whiny and haven't gotten back into running or working out. I know its a cop out but I seriously don't have time right now. 14 months old twins with one that has a sleep condition = like not normal not sleeping like we need a specialist so there is no 4 am to myself and I work full time and run my own Perfectly Posh direct sales on the side. Long story short - WHEN I do finally get my butt in shape you can bet my twin skinned belly that when we have the money I will do the same and my husband is 110% supportive of me. He told me I could even throw in a butt lift ;) Thanks for the motivation and inspiration! I love watching your journey!

  4. I love how true you are to yourself and others!! Hard work pays off!!! Who cares how it "pays" off.... it's your body, your choice!! You earned it!! We all want to feel comfortable in our own skin... whether it be yoga pants (like myself lol), augmentation, heavy makeup.... etc. We all need to just "do us" screw the haters!!! Keep up the good work. You are my source of motivation! Xoxo

  7. Why does it matter what other people think? DO YOU! And you go girl for achieving all you have achieved! The surgery is just the "icing" on that cake you worked so hard on.. bad analogy? lol

  14. I say whatever it takes to be confident in yourself. Do it. Life is too short to be unhappy.

I don't mean this in a bad way but seeing those pics, I never realized how much extra skin you have. I'm glad you share your whole story - I think it's fascinating.

  16. I applaud your decision to have the surgery. I had a breast reduction done years ago, not because it was causing problem then but would as I got older. Best decision I ever made for myself. Now...if I could only get some weight off so I could consider skin removal that would be fantastic! Best wishes on amazing results. Thank you for sharing!

  17. That is so awesome! My mom had the exact same procedure done about 6 months ago and she is so so happy with the results! She worked insanely hard in the gym for about 6 years before she finally decided she wanted to do the surgery and she was so happy that she did it. Recovery wasn't super fun, it is a pretty big procedure and it took her 3 or 4 days be feel comfortable even just laying again. Her doctor said that often times the most uncomfortable part is that your whole body feels super super tight, but the feeling gets better each day. She said that hardest part was not being able to go to the gym, ha! She was back to very light "exercise" (walks and stretching) in about 10 days and she was back at the gym part time in 3 weeks and full time in 6 weeks. Good luck and I hope it goes so well for you and you are happy and even stronger after! Its totally ok and necessary for us to be selfish sometimes!

  18. If anyone is ugly about it, it's just because they are jealous they can't do it. Like me!!! LoL! You've worked your butt off and have the means to get it done, do it!!! Do you follow LVNFIT on Insta? She had it done, and she looks amazing as will you! You'll be able to show off your hard work and feel GOOD about it!!

  21. There's no shame in being a little selfish now & then. You've worked so hard for your results, there is absolutely nothing wrong with supplementing them with medical help for the areas that can't be perfected with diet and exercise alone. I can't wait to see your results! Good luck with the surgery and recovery :)

  22. You go girl! !!! I had an abdominoplasty done about a year and a half ago and it was the best thing I've ever done. Recovery wasnt awful. .I can actually see my belly button now! It's great. You will be and look amazing!!

  23. Girl, it's not selfish. You worked your booty off. I need to learn more about macros and get off about 25 pounds. I think mommy's are always giving to everyone but themselves.

  24. the twerking was fricken hysterical!!!!!!! And you seriously have the best laugh! I am excited for you for your surgery- I mean, surgery or not you look AMAZING...but it has been well earned and you deserve to feel 100% happy with your body (who cares about the haters. they are just going to hate, hate, hate, hate, hate...oh Taylor) Thanks for you endless realness and inspiration! 25. So I wanted to post a comment about how hard you've worked for this body and how you deserve to look at it and be proud...I'm overwhelmed by all of the women on here showering you with love and support! Megan, you've built such an awesome community of women. Thank you for all that you do and all the inspiration you give! If you can do it, why can't I?

Side note...I'm really curious about the recovery process and hope you give a BRUTALLY honest rundown of what that's like.

  27. As someone who has lost 167lbs and have been left with extra skin, I say GO FOR IT! I will be doing my skin removal after my last baby. You deserve to have the body you work hard for. I can't wait to see your journey continue!

  28. I don't post often but love to read your blog. I hate that people can be so mean...it only means they are unhappy with their own lives!! Congrats to all of your accomplishments!! I wish you well with surgery and a speedy recovery!! :-)

  29. So cool. Not selfish one bit. Like you said, you have worked so insanely hard and there is no way to get rid of extra skin. I would do it too if I had accomplished what you did!! Keep being awesome!

  30. Hey Meg - I love how honest you are with your weight loss and fitness journey - most people only show their "good" side but you give us real life. I've followed you for years and am grateful that you've stayed true to yourself and blogging . . . and always given us the "real" story! You are seriously one of the most hard working and dedicated fitness folks out there - I often wonder how you do it . . . I'm just so impressed that you are so consistent with your work outs and eating right - most of us (myself included) fall off the wagon! You deserve every bit of feeling good about yourself and if surgery is the way to get there, then I hope you have the best possible outcomes! I have getting a tummy tuck on my bucket list before I'm 50 (to eliminate stretch marks and loose skin from carrying three babies like basketballs) so I hope you share all the details with us. You know us women are curious about everything . . . just shut out the noise of folks that want to be ugly . . . it's really something wrong with them, not you. :-)

  33. I'm so excited for your skin removal surgery! You look fantastic now but I'm sure you will feel even better after the surgery! I have a little extra skin on my tummy after having two babies and it gets in the way! How lovely it will be to not have to tuck that extra skin into your undies/pants! You have worked so hard and totally deserve this! I can't wait to see pics of your post-surgery progress!
