We had a 4 day weekend at our house, just a little taste of what the next few months will be like at our house. Chaos. Every one home all the time, it's going to be a bit crazy trying to get work done for sure. Madison has summer school, YMCA camp, soccer, and tutoring so lots of me driving her around, because of her busy schedule we opted to not send Aiden to anything this summer, but he'll start preschool again 3 days a week in the Fall. Weather permitting we will be taking half day on Friday's and swimming with friends.
Friday we had a huge rainstorm and the soccer fields flooded so my tournament was canceled, huge bummer. I went for a 8 mile run in the misty rain with Poppy, it was fun because I haven't been able to run with her very much! Treated myself to a skinny latte before heading home to shower and go to breakfast with Oliver.
My parents wanted to take the kids to Ham Orchards to pick blackberries, it was a muddy mess so I passed and Oliver and I had a nice breakfast date and walked around the farmers market.
Then we spent a little time at the pool, I don't really like to swim until it's like bath water - so like late July around here hahahaha. Madison and the dogs don't care, the rain is keeping the pool cold! We cooked out and enjoyed some dessert my Mom brought back from the orchard.
The peach pie and peach ice cream from Hams is AHHHHHMAZING. I wasn't even judging Aiden for face planting in it.
Sunday we tried to sleep in, this girl is just a morning person and is in my room around 6:34am daily. She's just so sweet and cuddly in the morning I can't even be mad.
It was the last weekend for Scarborough Fair so we drove the hour to check it out, camel rides, face painting, fair food, and lots of people watching.
Aiden was really loving the petting zoo, he wanted to feed all the animals, no fear. Then he kicked a chicken, unprovoked. Abort! Petting zoo time is over.
We had a good time, but taking kids to these type of things is so expensive and Aiden's not even old enough to ride anything.
Monday Oliver and I went to Crossfit to attend our first Murph! 'Murph is a CrossFit Hero WOD named after Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005. He was 29, of Patchogue, N.Y. Lt Murphy was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor after his death. The workout was one of Mike's favorites and he'd named it 'Body Armor.'
The workout consists of a 1 mile run, 100 pull ups, 200 pushups, 300 squats, and another 1 mile run. You're supposed to do it all with a weighted vest or 'body armor' but I'm not that strong yet. I did complete the full workout, but I used a band to assist with pulls ups, I finished in about 46 minutes. I don't think I pushed myself hard enough, but I've never done this workout so I opted to not kill myself. Next year I'll have something to strive to beat!
I have to say I will be looking forward to this every year, it was so much fun!! I got to workout with a bunch of people then we all hung out while drinking and enjoying food. Pretty much my perfect day :)
Madison loved it, she made about 14 new friends and would've stayed all day if I let her. Oliver completed the half murph, I'm SO proud of him for sticking with it!! He's improving every day!
This turkey decided for the first time to refuse to nap, he kept asking to go to bed, I took him to his crib and laid him down - about 3 minutes later I hear him banging on the walls. We repeated this about 4 times before I just gave up, which of course came to bite me in the rear about 6pm. I still managed to get my chicken prepped - my Diet Bet starts today! Oliver also started counting macros - so it's going to be a busy week for me ;)
You still have plenty of time to join - just click here. It's a $35 bet to lose 4% of your body weight in 4 weeks. I highly recommend downloading the Diet Bet App to submit photos - they make it really easy!
If you joined and would like a private Facebook group please leave a comment here or on Facebook - if I have enough interest I'll post the link to the group on the Diet Bet activity page.
Just found another wine I really love, but with reduced calories wine will be the first to go. I just need to keep my macros for food that will keep me full.
