Update: Hair Extensions.

Had a fan-freaking-tastic workout this morning! Yesterday I woke up to major thunderstorms and I just wasn't feeling it so I rolled over and went back to sleep. It's Spring Break week here so we had no need to get up early and I slept in until 7. That combined with getting my food back on track has me feeling really good right now - routine is not a bad thing.

It's been about a month since I put extension in my hair and I thought I'd give an update on them for those of you contemplating it! I use a girl named Chandler local to my area, she's great if you are close to my area of Dallas. Here's the first post I did about them where I talk about price and how many I got.

I use my regular Pureology Hydrate Shampoo and Conditioner on them, I wash every 3 or 4 days typically. Most days I just rewet my bangs and blow dry it all out.

On wash days I have to let it air dry for a while before blow drying, it does take longer to dry, but nothing crazy. I only have half a head of extensions in, if I had a full head it would probably take me about 20 minutes to dry. Maybe I'm being dramatic, but gah, blow drying is so boring and it feels like it takes forever, just when you think you are done you realize you still have damp spots. Annoying.

I've really been enjoying this product, Redken Pillow Proof Blow Dry Two Day Extender , I spray it in before I blow dry and it has a heat protectant and is supposed to keep your hair nicer for longer. Whatever that means LOL

I used to flip my head over and blow dry upside down for volume, now I start at the bottom and work my way up.

It dries pretty straight, but I have to get it ultra smooth with a flat iron, I love my Hana Professional 1'' Flat Iron .

I did have some issue with pulling my hair back in the beginning because of the different colors I have, the blonde extensions showed through the dark top half really easily so I just went back and had the tops darkened and now it's not a problem.

These extensions last for about 6ish months I believe, I think next time I'll go darker because they are pretty hard to darken with just hair color. Y'all know me, I like to change it up frequently :)

My main concern with getting them was the extra time and how they would hold up to my constant working out. I do have to take more time to pull it back securely before running, but honestly its really just easier to pop on a hat! They are not heavy at all and I usually forget they are even there - super comfortable!

I do tend to not curl it as often, it takes a lot longer, but the extensions hold the curl just as good as my real hair. I use my trusty Nume 25mm magic on it!
