How it's really going.

So, how's it going working from home? Well it's been two days and here's  recap so far.

1. I've barely gotten anything done between taking the kids to school and getting distracted cleaning the house. By the time I get going it's time to pick up Madison from school and then with 2 kids running around and Oliver watching TV it's hopeless.
2. Oliver almost got throat punched yesterday and flipped off a couple times. He said 'you seem unmotivated' SIDE EFFING EYE Oliver.

Pantless babies and talkative husbands are not the best work environment, but I have hopes for next week. My MIL will be back in town so hopefully she'll take one of those two things off my hands for a few hours in the morning. Husband or baby - whatever!

I have enjoyed getting to see the baldish one more, he's still crying at preschool drop off, but stops pretty quickly once they turn on the music. He's the youngest in his class, he only made the cut off by a few days. I think that will only help him developmentally, both my kids are slow to talk so hoping that the older kids will help him learn a few words.

Getting to pick her up daily is such a blessing, I'm grateful for all the time I get with my kids! Oliver and I will work on being together 24/7 after years of only seeing each other for a few hours at night, he's a cool dude when he keeps his comments to himself.

I for sure need to work on my time management skills, daily goal setting, and focusing on my tasks. I legit CAN'T wait for the office upstairs to be done so I can be separated from the chaos, but I have a few months before that happens. I have been SO proud of my food choices, with a full kitchen and pantry available to me I was worried about snacking and such, but I'm staying strong and my plan is working, I'll be chatting more about that tomorrow though along with some new food finds that I'm enjoying!

  2. You rock, Megan! You never fail at making me laugh!!! I've been following along since your very first post as Miss Madisons Charmed Life because I was so obsessed with your furniture re-purposing skills! Now that I recently became a (working) mom, I feel like you speak to me more and more every day! Thanks for being awesome! Have a great rest of your day! :)

  3. Ahhh! Don't tell me that you're getting distracted. That is one of my fears when I start working from home on the 28th. :/ I even let it slip that I was excited about more time to workout and my husband gave me the side eye. I'm excited about you being able to control your food temptations though...that's another concern of mine.

  7. How can men sit and waste so much time watching tv while we run around!? Maybe he just doesn’t know what else he could be doing and he doesn’t want to get in your way.
OMG the baldish one in those stripes!!! He is so cute I want to kiss that sweet face!

  8. My house was very clean when I worked from home and all of the laundry would be done every single day. By the time I cleaned, worked out, ate, and showered, I had about an hour to actually work lol! It does take some discipline but it will come in time. And I definitely got the side eye from the hubby a lot!

  10. Looks like the Nina chair from World Market! Love that chair! I always despise folks who think moms that work from home have a casual, leisure environment because it is SO NOT true! Good luck next week. :)

  12. It takes awhile to focus, I was the General Manager of a five star hotel for four years, and had never worked from home....then two years ago I now have my base from home...you have to set boundaries, close doors, put signs up so you do not get disturbed or distracted...also I HIGHLY recommend for you the Day Designer - buy one ASAP and write down your tasks for each day with the top three at top - the August ones are still available - it really helps, no matter if you have your TO DO list on the phone, etc, this really helps to layout the day and get things done girl!!

  13. Opps, the August edition of the Day Designer is almost sold out (what I recommended above for you Meg!) - but there is one design still available that is cute. From someone who is the "Queen of organising" this really has changed my day to day life. xo

  14. Maybe you can work while the kids are gone and save the cleaning for when they're home? Good luck!
