Babies are good for your body!

The middle photo showed up in my timehop, so happy #TBT - proof that having kids does not ruin your body. I would say I've gotten more motivated to get in shape after each one of my children.  The first picture was the first time I tried to lose weight, for my wedding, and I used Jenny Craig to drop 50 pounds. The second was the moment I first lost 100 pounds after Madison, and the third was today - 14 months after Aiden. I don't need a perfect body to keep myself motivated, I just need to see progress, somewhere, and I'm a FIRM believer that everyone should be taking progress pictures! Make the time, it's worth it. Funny, thinking about it, I certainly eat more with each progressive picture. Jenny Craig was very low calorie, the second time I was eating on average 1400-1500 daily and now I eat around 2,000. The difference is I learned more effective workouts as I went.

Oliver went to have lunch yesterday at school with Madison, you would of thought the president was coming to town the way she went on and on about it for dayssssss. Seriously, how cute are they in their selfie!

She's pretty upset with me right now, she was invited to a school friends birthday party, a slumber party to be exact, and I don't feel right letting her spend the night when I don't know the family. Oliver told her the same thing, but all she hears is Mommy is saying no. I tried to explain the best I could, but she's 6 and doesn't understand. I tried to compromise and tell her she can go and stay late and we will come get her before bedtime. Yesterday she told me 'Mama I talked to Makenna and she said her family is actually very nice' God Lord, I can only imagine what she said to the girl. I said 'Madison I have no doubt they are very nice, but we just don't know them, sorry'
This growing up business is getting tricky.

The perfect predinner snack, low fat and low carb - delish.  The hour between me getting home, feeding the kids, and making dinner is rough. I have a hard time not snacking, I legit think I might die some days. After a chocolate chip banana muffin incident I had to find something that fit my macros a bit better.

My hair has never ever been this healthy, it's crazy soft! I just started using Argan Oil  and I'm highly impressed, it's not heavy or even super oily. It's a struggle to not put it all over my body, heaven in a bottle.

  4. Times are different now then they were when we were growing up. I remember spending the night at my friends house all the time. Today I would never let my child stay anywhere unless I know that kids parents. I am with you momma the answer is no.

  5. Why would you post that picture of Madison? While I don't disagree with you about letting her go to the sleepover, it's rude and embarrassing to whip out your phone to get a shot of her crying. You pick and choose the most flattering pictures of yourself for social media, yet post embarrassing pictures of your daughter. I hope that's not to make yourself feel better.

    1. The picture of her daughter crying made me feel like her life relates to mine! Maybe someday Madison will see that picture and laugh at her 6 year old tantrum. I too have a 6 year old and sometimes she doesn't take no for an answer. I think this blog is all about hitting home for people and this hits home for me! I'm sure Madison didn't analyze or read into having her photo
      taken.

    2. My parents took pictures of my crying and guess what....I'm normal! And we laugh about them now! That was such a rude comment about Meg and her daughter. Madison is beautiful.....even when she cries!

    3. Oh Lisa, Shut. Up. What is embarrassing is your lack of having a sense of humor. Why be so negative. If you don't like it then don't ever post a picture of someone crying. Should she call you for approval before posting next time? HA! The picture made me giggle because I can totally relate. People should not throw stones when they live in a glass house. JS. Oh man people like you crack. me. up.
BTW- Meg you are looking fabulous!! hard work pays off!!

    4. I don't think Lisa needs to be told to shut up, sure is easy to throw insults through a computer screen! That aside, I think Lisa brings up a good point. It's really unfair to Madison to have her picture plastered all over the internet looking like a cry baby. This was very much a story that didn't need photo documentation, we can relate to Meg through her words, without a photo of her daughter crying, that's rude. Courtbrooke, I don't think we're arguing that Madison won't be "normal" from this, it's a matter of RESPECT. I'm a mom and that is the #1 thing I teach my children. I'm not sure of your age, but I'm certain when your parents were taking those photos of you crying, they weren't posting them to a public blog. Meg, I am, by no means, discrediting your parenting ability...promise, I am not.

    5. It's alright y'all Lisa obviously is not a follower or she would know that I am blessed with an overabundance of self confidence and would never put down ANYONE much less my own child to make myself feel better. Second, thank you for saying my bikini pictures are flattering. Third, I did not 'whip out my phone' as you put it, I was trying to take a picture of my new chair to send to my Mom and Madison plopped down on it so I would know she was still upset about the party. Last, I think she's cute with her little pouty face.

  7. Your hair does look so healthy and awesome! Aww poor Madison, but you have to start laying down the rules now and letting her cry it out! "No" is needed, kids need boundaries and this is a loving boundary. But still hard for you! It would have been easier to send her! But not the right thing according to your morals. Was that pink desk in a different room? I have seen it - Maybe you posted the project of painting it? I love it!

  9. Such a inspiration! I really need to hit the weights! I agree with the sleep over also. We just had that issue luckily my son was ok with staying late. Sometimes it is hard to make these decisions hopefully when they grow up and have kids of their own they will understand :)

  10. Ok can you puuuleese put a post up on how you use the oil. I'm trying to do less buns and style mine more with anti-frizz "oils" but man alive my hair gets nasty and greasy so fast!!! You look amazing!

  11. Haaaay I never comment because I'm obviously a creeper but been following for awhile- we had babies at the same time, c section, weight to lose, etc. (down 66 pounds YEAH) anyway. The point.

We have a strict no sleepover policy- it's so hard to say yes to some friends and not the others so our policy is NOPE. Grandma's house and cousins, and that is all. Granted she is only six but we had to start it early so we weren't picking and choosing. All the trouble I got in as a kid was at sleep overs. (sorry mom.)

Also- you go glen coco! haters gonna hate. Just keep rockin those abs.

I know that you did a post about it recently but I can't seem to find it on your blog. I've been using AdvoCare products but I really want to get serious about implementing them into my workout regimen. please hook a Mommy up!

  16. I love your pics showing your progress and the 3 ways that you lost weight at different stages of your life. Knowing what you know now which method would you have used to begin with (for your wedding)? Would you have lifted more and cardio less? Cut back calories? I love your blog (and especially your IG) and that you are so real and definitely inspiring! Thanks for all you do for us!

    1. Hard to say, I think what I'm doing now {more weights, but still running with IIFYM} has given me the best results, but the whole reason I'm successful now is because of what I've learned trying things that didn't work! I needed weight watchers when I was using it, running gave me confidence that I needed at the time, so I can't say I'd change anything. What works for me won't work for everyone, have to find what fits your life right now!
