Back Work

It's hard to see what's going on behind you, so I was really pleased when a friend snapped this shot and my muscles showed up to the gym party! I'm going to share my tried and true go to moves to shape that upper back, I usually do my lower back combined with legs in dead lifts and such so I'll share those another day. 

You can work this a few different ways depending on your fitness level. My favorite way is to start my first set out light {always warm up, every time I skip this I get injured and it's annoying} and go heavier each set after - I aim for 3-5 sets of 8-12 reps. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the cable machines for my back, you can do so much and go really heavy! Most of the time I rest about 15-20 seconds between sets, not very long at all.

When I do cardio or run I love my Spark, nothing compares, I've tried a preworkout and it actually made me feel dizzy when I ran!   2. I love the Slap Nutrition coffee pre-workout. It doesn't make me feel dizzy (though you have some tingling at first because of the beta-alanine), and I swear it's responsible for converting me to a morning workout person. Though, I'm a member of the 6/7am club not the 5am club like you are :)

  5. Just started IIFYM this week and I did my own numbers. Curious.. do you follow a different plan on your running days? Is that something your coach figured out for you? Totally loving it so far! :)

    1. Yes I get about 30g more carbs on running days :) She figured it out for me
