I had one awesome weekend, lots of sweating and no obligations which was very relaxing! I need to stop trying to do all the things on my two days off, it's kinda exhausting. My 14 dollar swimsuit came in the mail, High Waist Retro Bikini Swimsuit , and I loveeeeeeee it. I never shop online for swim wear, it's too hard to find the right size, but for 14 bucks I figured I'd take a chance.
We spent the days swimming, grilling, and napping. Aiden was wonderful, he'd swim for a bit, kicking his fat little legs as fast as he could, then he'd take a long nap.
I had some good and bad workouts over the weekend, my long run was Saturday morning, 13ish miles.
I joined the Dallas Running Club for their marathon training program, I really want to be sure I'm training correctly. When you sign up they ask you for your last 5k, 10k, and Half times, then they use some formula to figure out your pace group. Well, I didn't want to use my official times since they were pre-pregnancy and I'm not nearly that fast right now, so I put in Meredeth's numbers so I could be in her 4:50 group. The first few miles were very slow for me, it was hard to stay in the group and keep a casual pace, so around mile 4 I stayed a little ahead of the group, we did some hills and I was feeling really good despite the humidity. Then I made a rookie mistake - I accidentally filled up with Gatorade, when I realized I should of dumped it, but I figured - eh it's really hot it might do me some good. UHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. NO> I started to cramp, bad, then I literally saw stars the last 1.5 miles. I've never ever felt that way and I was pretty mad at myself. Lesson learned. Stick with what I know. I love my Nuun and Spark.
My training program has me running 14 miles for the next 3 weekends, this is where I will need to really focus. I can see now why people say it's mostly mental - the thought of running a half marathon plus some for the next 14 weeks is pretty daunting.
Sunday and Monday I cross trained at the gym, lots of weights and a few sprints on the dreadmill.
Sunday we focused on legs and Monday upper body. The squat challenge is going really well - maybe too well I was still pretty sore today! I am thisfreakingclose to getting back into the 160's and I'm busting my ass for it - in the gym and the kitchen. Tracking tracking tracking!
Adorable swimsuit girl!!!

DeleteDreadmill is the most perfect name that torture device.
ReplyDeleteThat suit is so cute!! What size did you end up getting because I think I want to get it but unsure of the way the size chart reads :)
ReplyDeleteI got an XL
DeleteThank you so much!! :)
DeleteTHANK YOU!
DeleteI love your suit! You are rocking it girl. I absolutely love following you.
ReplyDeleteI wish there was a running group near me where someone had a clue. I just ran a half on Sunday and didn't properly train, so it sucked...truly sucked...but I finished, so that's all that matters I guess! ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat's the app you have the snap shot of?
ReplyDeleteYou look great!!! Love the suit :-)
ReplyDeleteJust bought the suit. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLove that swimsuit. I put it on my wishlist. I got a high waisted suit from Forever 21 for super cheap as well and LOVE it as well. It is a style I can get into to since one pieces never fit me right and I don't want to show my belly off without some more weight loss. I wish there was a beginners running group around here. A half marathon sounds brutal to me but I can't even run a mile yet. You should do a post on tips for running in the heat (if you haven't already). I am a big baby about the heat and always wonder how you runners do it??
ReplyDeletegiiiiiil!!!!!! this post has my runners heart racing!!!!! what a freaking inspiration you are!!!! THANK YOU!!!!
ReplyDeleteGo girl! I love reading about your accomplishments and the road to get there. Keep it up! You inspire me to be more healthy!
ReplyDeleteLove the swimsuit! You are such an inspiration!
ReplyDeleteYou rock! I wish I had the motivation to work the way you do!
ReplyDeleteYou have probably been asked this a million times but what app do you use to track your runs?
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing in your new bathing suit! I have to say, I am pretty inspired and ordered one for me too!!!
ReplyDeleteGood job! Your drive is so motivating!
ReplyDeleteLooking happy and great! Love reading your updates.
ReplyDeleteHow often do you hydrate on your runs? I've been attempting longer distances and waiting until the end of my runs to drink water. I'm pretty sure that's having an adverse effect on my pace. Do you carry a bottle with you while you run?
