Yesterday I went in for my last check before baby, the nurse took my blood pressure and it came back a little higher than normal. I have low blood pressure, it sits in the 60’s normally, so when it’s elevated that puts me in the ‘normal’ range. The only other time my blood pressure has gone up was the day before I delivered Madison. Naturally I had a mini freak-out, I mean I’m ready, but I’m not, ya know? Anyways the Dr checked me, head is falling out and I’m at a 2 so I was good to go back to work.
I decided to pull up my online info from the Dr and look at my blood pressure history throughout the pregnancy and I saw it. My weight. I mean they just put it on there in black and white right next to your vital signs. All these months of not knowing and I finally saw it.
207.
Yep. I’ve gained around 52 pounds and the funny thing is, I’m not even the littlest bit upset about that number. In fact I feel GOOD about myself when I look in a mirror. Yes I can see where the weight is even if others who see me on a regular basis don’t, but I know that my body did what it needed to do to give me a healthy baby boy. My thighs needed that cush and my boob’s just hate being small what can I say?
This is coming from a girl who was OBSESSED with the scale; I would weigh myself several times a day, I would weigh myself after I peed and I would never ever weigh myself with a stich of clothing on. The scale used to make me cry and I’m now proud to say that now it’s just a reference tool for me. This same outlook is what has kept me consistent at the gym for 9 months, I don’t go to get thinner I go to feel good. I go because it’s good for me and for my baby.
I’m proud of how far I’ve come in this journey, not just while pregnant, but my entire outlook on losing weight and being happy with myself. It takes time to learn that you don’t have to reach that ‘perfect’ body to be happy, you can choose to be happy at any point. Knowing that I’ve put in MY best effort is what makes me proud!

My last Body Pump class before baby! |
Getting healthy is not just a physical things it's a mental one. If your only goal is to look like someone else then you are never going to be happy, you need to get to the best version of you. Celebrate YOUR success and don't compare yourself to others. I mean of course I would like to throat punch the girl who leaves the hospital in skinny jeans, human nature and all, but I'm not going to be down on my own amazing body just because I don't. That's why God invented Spanx. I'll happily stuff it in until my own time comes to pull those skinny jeans back out, I'm willing to do the work.

So proud of you for working out your entire pregnancy. I'm sure the delivery will be smooth and a fast recovery due to the fact that you've been working out. I can't wait to see baby pictures. Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteAnd this is why I love you. In a non creepy way :) thanks for always being real
ReplyDeleteLove this. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing!'you've done a wonderful job! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI'm really looking forward to watching your journey after little man is here.
ReplyDeleteYou have no idea how much you inspire me on a daily basis.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I will be trying for baby #2 very soon. I can't wait to use your blog a reference for work outs and meal ideas while I'm pregnant.
You go girl!
This is why I absolutely love you!!! You are so real and truly inspiring! I can only hope if I ever get pregnant again I have half as much drive as you do to keep exercising :) Now...counting down til we see baby pics on IG!! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat ^^Emily^^ said. This is why I love reading your blog. You look great and feel great. Good for you! Going to the gym, losing the weight, buying smaller clothes... do it because it's good for you not because you think it will make you happy. Being happy comes from the inside, and you totally shine! Good luck with baby. I can't wait to watch you on your journey. I know it will help motivate me to lose these remaining 30 lbs of my own!
ReplyDeletepreach it! and yes, that is the truth. happiness comes from within, not from the reflection in the mirror.

ReplyDeleteI just adore you! You make me want my next pregnancy to be healthier. I was super lazy with my first, tried harder with my second but still didn't exercise. Keep on being awesome.
ReplyDeleteYou go, girl.
ReplyDeleteI have always loved your attitude and outlook throughout the many years I've followed your blog. You stuck with the workouts through this pregnancy and I know for a lot of women, that's not very easy. But you put in the effort to do what was best for you AND your baby. And that's freaking awesome. Seriously. I'll say it again. YOU GO, GIRL.
I can't wait to see your new little bundle of joy! Congrats on kicking ass all the way up until the end!
I would have never guessed your weight gain. I think you still look great & admire you a ton for working out this whole time. You're a rock star.
ReplyDeleteI'm a long time reader, but I don't think I have ever commented. You are SO inspiring, Meg. You have such a positive, upbeat attitude about everything, and you are REAL. I love that you don't doctor your pictures in any way, and also love that you obviously balance home life and gym very well. I can't wait for pictures of adorable little baby Aiden!
ReplyDeleteYou're amazing! What a great attitude to have about everything. I have NO doubt you will be rocking the same (or even better) body that you worked so hard for before you got pregnant with little guy. You're such an inspiration, especially as a working mom.
ReplyDeleteThe best part of this story is you have already won the race. You know the correct way to lose the pregnancy weight and won't have any trouble doing so. Best wishes to you as the date approaches and thank you for sharing your life with others.
ReplyDeleteI am so proud of you Meg! Truly I am and I am so glad you have came to realize that weight doesn't define ya! YOU LOOK AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this. I have lost nearly 100lbs over the last 14 months and the plan has always been to start trying this spring for #2. I have to admit, I do not want to gain weight. I want no part of the scale moving up or buying bigger clothes or any of that. I am struggling with the selfishness of this. I am surprised I am even sharing this through a blog comment but I am.
ReplyDeleteYou have stayed so healthy throughout your pregnancy, it's inspiring for this former-fattie :) I hope you have a safe & healthy birth, I eagerly await your post-birth updates for inspiration.
You are amazing! You should be proud. You look wonderful, I never would have guessed 207. Whenever you have the baby, I wish you good luck and that everything goes smoothly :)
ReplyDeleteWow, you are hurray amazing abs I love your positive attitude. i'm 28 Weeks, doing crossfit 3 or 4 tones a week and eating healthier than I ever did with my first, but the pounds keep packing on. I know you work super hard to and it just goes to show your body is going to do what it's going to do! You look amazing and have a wonderful attitude. Enjoy your last few pregnant days!

ReplyDeleteYou are amazing and REAL!! Can't wait to "see" your little guy and watch you get back into those skinny jeans!! Best of Luck:)
ReplyDeleteOK. I just love you. I love your attitude and I know like you said it has taken time to get to that point.
ReplyDeleteI love that you aren't stressing over the number.
You are a prime example of what a healthy mom should be, let alone what a healthy pregnant mom should be. Great job girl.
I really needed to read this post today. I had an OB appointment on Monday where the doctor made me feel pretty awful about the weight I have put on so far, and despite my best efforts to run 4x/week and eat healthfully, my body just seems to need a certain amount of baby weight on there to keep my little girl growing on track. Thank you for reminding me to love this version of myself, and not compare it to some stupid "standard" or anyone else's pregnancy body. You look so amazing and have done such a great job throughout your pregnancy - it's been a joy to follow along!
ReplyDeleteYou have such a great outlook on it! Love this message :)
ReplyDeleteYou look AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteYou're awesome and gorgeous, Megan! That is all. :)
ReplyDeleteI've been silently reading your blog for awhile and I couldn't not comment on this entry.
ReplyDeleteI love your honesty, your zest for life and the happiness that oozes out of your entries. I have absolutely no doubt you'll be back in those skinny jeans, because you have the work ethic to get it done.
Sending lots of positive vibes from Canada for an easy delivery of your bouncing baby boy. :)
You and the baby are happy and healthy and that's all that matters! Not a number on the scale. You deserve some serious props for maintaining your workouts throughout your pregnancy. When I got pregnant in 2011 I said I was going to continue exercising, but then 1st trimester fatigue sidelined me and I gave up trying. You have some serious commitment!
ReplyDeleteYou are awesome and did GREAT with this pregnancy! Thank you sooo much for being an awesome example for us to keep it healthy because that's all that matters!
ReplyDeleteYou look amazing and I really admire your super positive attitude!! You are such a great mom! I am inspired by you! I am taking the time to take care of myself because in the long run it is making me a better mom for my kids. I have two little ones, ages 3 and 1, and we have started thinking about #3. I know now that I will be able to work out the whole time and be in much better shape afterwards! Thank you for being your awesome self!
ReplyDeleteI just love you, Meg! You are so positive and uplifting and always encourage me to do it all the right way. You let it be known how much pride comes with all the hard work put in, and you make me feel like I'm capable of putting in the world also. I look to your blog for reference and motivation regularly and am slightly thankful that in our near future are more hard work posts! ;) Blessings for your delivery operation and baby A!! Erin Weathers
ReplyDeleteSo happy for you and I just love your attitude. It's a healthy one! I am working on that myself. Wishing you lots of luck in this last week before that sweet baby shows his to the world.
ReplyDeleteYou're my favorite, have I ever told you that?! Incredibly inspiring from the inside out. Loved this post!
ReplyDeleteI just love this post (I mean, I love them all, but with this one - I needed to leave a comment). I love your outlook. Sometimes we get so caught up in the number that we forget all the other factors that determine our health "status", if you will.
ReplyDeleteYou are awesome! And I love you to bits!
If everyone had your positive attitude, what a wonderful place the internet would be!
I love everything about this post. That you actually posted what you weigh and don't care. That you post pictures of a pregnant Mama at the gym working out (with weights! GO YOU!), and especially that you note that the scale doesn't define you - how you *feel* about you defines you! I LOVE THAT! You're an amazing Mama and this little boy is so blessed to have a Mom who takes care of herself (thus takes care of her whole family)!
ReplyDeleteGreat attitude!
:)
SO proud of your great attitude about your little wee one! :) You are such a great motivator, Megan!!! Way to go! And thank you.
ReplyDelete<3 <3 <3
ReplyDeleteThank you for your positive outlook! I'm crying as I sit here 16 weeks pregnant knowing I will gain weight this pregnancy. With my first baby I was much more overweight and actually lost enough weight in the beginning that I weighed the same as I started on delivery day. This time I took care of myself and have not as much to lose. Thank you for showing that gaining weight in pregnancy is healthy. That having a healthy baby is most important. Can't wait to see pictures of that healthy boy soon! You are an inspiration. A real, positive, healthy role model.
ReplyDeleteMost adorable pregnant lady ever! You look totally amazing and you inspire me to get up and go to the gym. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are so awesome! I just had a baby 5 weeks ago and I really need to get motivated to get moving soon. I gained 50+ pounds because of 24 weeks of strict bed rest and I need to feel happy in my skin again. Not to be too creepy but I'm excited to take the "journey" with you.
ReplyDeleteYou totally validated us! Thanks Megan! That's why I love reading your blog and following your IG. xo.
ReplyDeleteP.s. You will snap back...you will, just watch!!
I truly admire how you keep it real in your blog and promote self-acceptance. I want my two daughters to never feel bad about their physical appearance so I strive to model confidence to them. I feel that you are doing the same for Madison.
ReplyDeleteYou totally validated us! Thanks Megan! That's why I love reading your blog and following your IG. xo.
ReplyDeleteP.s. You will snap back...you will, just watch!!
I am so glad that you don't obsess over pregnancy weight gain. You are growing a baby and you are doing a great job! AND, he is almost here!
ReplyDeleteYou look sooo good. I kind of stalk you but your pics always stop me. You look like the epitome of healthy pregnancy to me!! Good luck, good luck, good luck!!!
ReplyDeleteGah you're the best!! Love this and you!
ReplyDeleteLove everything about this and you look amazing!!
ReplyDeleteThat is such an amazingly POSITIVE way to look at it! I love that you are doing what you need to do so that both you and baby are healthy, and not worrying about the numbers. It is inspiring to see for anyone, pregnant or not.
ReplyDeleteGreat attitude! You are definitely a positive role model for me! I don't have kids yet and the thought of pregnancy and gaining back the 80 pounds that I have lost scares the be-geezus out of me! But watching you go through your pregnancy makes me a little less concerned about it all.
ReplyDeleteThanks for being so honest on your blog!

I love this post. You are absolutely correct! Today I celebrate the inspiration you are!
ReplyDeleteI think you look amazing!! Good luck with the baby!
ReplyDeleteSuch a good post! I weighed the exact same as you when I gave birth. But I wasn't working out. Even though reaching 200 was scary for me, I was so thankful to have two healthy babies and no bed rest.
ReplyDeleteMeg you are gorgeous and this post made me fall in love with you all over again;) Weighing in just under 200 when I had Elle - you know you can lose it for F sake your SKINNY MEG!!! I adore you and feel blessed to know such a wonderful woman as yourself. Can't wait to see little Aiden's face... Can't wait...
ReplyDeleteI LOVED this blog post. Just everything about it. I really needed to hear this today. Thank you for being such a big inspiration and helping me hear what I needed to hear for my own good. You are amazing.
ReplyDeleteGood for you body pumping while pregnant. I did this when I was pregnant with my twins and I felt so much better this time around vs my first pregnancy. You look fantastic and I wish you the best of luck.
ReplyDeleteGreat post today! I gained 50 with my daughter and 60 with my son even though I ate right and exercised. The last two months, my body just packed it on. I remember feeling panicked but then I accepted that this is what my body does and if it took me 9 to get it on, I would eat right and exercise and take 9 to get it off.
ReplyDeleteThanks for encouraging healthiness and confidence in your readers.
I think you are just so amazing! And I love this post. Good luck with Baby Aiden. He sure is coming into a loving and special family.
ReplyDeleteYou go girl!!! You've done a fabulous job!!!
ReplyDeleteNever commented before but look to see a new post everyday. You are awesome. You should be so proud. You look fantastic and soon you're going to be able to hold your baby boy! Inspiration much??
ReplyDeleteYou.Are.Awesome. LOVE this!
ReplyDeleteReally encouraging as I stare down the start of my third trimester! I'm OW...and not supposed to gain much if any weight!
ReplyDeleteYou shouldn't be upset AT ALL! You look AMAZING!! I am in awe that you worked out during your pregnancy, EVEN MORE SO that you worked out at 5 AM!!! I mean, I just….you are superwoman!!!
ReplyDeleteAre you sure that number was your weight? I'm not saying this to make you feel better AT ALL (I am not a sugar-coating kind of person), but you don't look anywhere near 207. If you are 207, DAMN, let me be 207! You look incredible. I hate to say that you're such an inspiration because it sounds so cliché, but...you're such an inspiration.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to follow your progress after the baby comes! :)

You are so right. Getting so excited for you Aiden will be here soon
ReplyDeleteHey Meg! I've been reading your blog for awhile and just love how real you are! You have been so amazing throughout your pregnancy! I am so impressed that you worked out 'til the end. I was sitting on my couch eating chocolate when I was 9 mos. preggers! :) Your attitude and outlook is inspiring. Thanks for sharing your life with us out here in blog land. Hope everything goes smoothly and can't wait to see pics of your baby boy!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great post! You have the right perspective and it's obvious that being healthy and fit and having balance is your focus. So awesome.
ReplyDeleteI think you should really consider getting certified in group fitness or even as a PT, because your passion is evident. Your bubbly personality and penchant for encouraging others would make you perf perf perfect for it.
You look amazing and you are an amazing person you are REAL there are so many out there that are all about being as skinny as possible and do it for attention not for being happy with themselves and their life. You rock congrats can't wait to see the baby and thank you for the motivation
ReplyDeletePregnant or not you are always inspiring! Thank you for sharing and for the great healthy message you always deliver! Wishing you all the best with your new (almost) family of 4!
