I hope everyone is having a great New Year; it’s only been 2 days so let’s hope so! I love this time of year, it’s a time for a fresh start and new goals!
My only goal right now is to do what I can until the end, after that I plan to take it slow and listen to my body. I have no idea how I’ll ‘bounce back’ afterwards. This is new territory for me and I’m really trying to not put too many expectations on myself. I did it once I can do it again. That’s my mantra right now when I look at the size of my booty in the mirror!
For all you non preggers what are your goals this year? Maybe you are trying to lose weight for the first time or maybe you are trying to get back on the wagon. Either way there are lots of ways you can go about it.
I’m a lover of Advocare as some of you may know, who would be after losing almost 10 pounds in 10 days the first time I tried the cleanse. Granted I was 220 pounds and it was my first foray into eating cleaner, but I’ve done it several times a year since then always with great results. The cleanse itself runs 32 bucks and is a great way to kick start your body!
You can read more here, here, and here on my results from past cleanses.
If you are looking for a different kind of motivation I am running my second Diet Bet game starting next Wednesday January 8th. I had a big turn out last time and lots of great feedback so I thought I’d do another for y’all. Last time I also did some recipe linkups and if you guys enjoyed that I’d be willing to do it again.
You can join the Diet Bet here and if you have questions please feel free to email me at skinnymeg@ymail.com

I had a few. Here they are:
ReplyDelete1. Drink 80 oz of water a day
2. Knit six projects (or crochet if I get to a class)
3. Track my calories 5 days a week. I don't care if I go over, I just want to be more conscious of my calorie intake.
4. Read 20 books.
5. Go to the park at least once a week with my little guy, April - October.
6. 10,000 steps a day.
7. Go to water works park 6 times from June to August with ,my little guy.
8. Text my step-son more about school while he's away at school (3 hours away - he's a sophmore in college).
9. Put my phone on do not disturb after work until little guy goes to bed.
I honestly never thought Advocare was for me, but after seeing your results, I am a believer. I like that it's not a fasting type of "cleanse" and more of a body reset for one to make the foray into clean(er) eating.
ReplyDeleteMy new year's resolution is to work on me, body and mind, and be the best parent I can be.
ReplyDeleteHi Megan! I definitely have a few new year's resolutions, but instead of being very broad, I like to pick really targeted goals. Instead of saving money, I'm taking every other month to not spend any extraneous money (only bills, groceries, and a gift and gas budget). I also want to train and run my first half by June! I've always wanted to try the cleanse, so my email is haleymlentz@gmail.com to enter to win!
ReplyDeleteMy new years resolution is to get healthy, spend more time with my little man, and be the best wife I can be! :)

Would love to try the cleanse! My goal for the new year is to be a better me, and to achieve that I've broken my plan down into smaller goals. Eating healthy, tracking meals, drinking water, moving my body, and starting CrossFit this week. Also doing a no-spend January because this falls into the same category of being a better me!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Meg!

ReplyDeleteMy resolutions are always the same it seems. Lose weight and save money. I am pretty good for the most part at the lose weight thing when I have my head in it. I just can't ever keep it off. So this year I have resolved to just live healthier and happier. Weight loss should come with that. I want to learn new things and make new habits. I am tired of falling back into old ones.
On the money front, I'm leaving that one up to my hubby this year. He is the budget maker so he can figure out why we seem to always be broke. :)
I also want to start saying "no" more. I need to if I want more time to focus on myself.

My New Years resolution is to loose weight (and I mean really this time) I just got married a year ago and I want to start trying for a baby but at this weight I just really don't want to do that just yet to my body, my husband is leaving for the Air Force for 4 months and that's my goal to look great, eat healthier and when I see him look drop dead sexy therefore a baby will come fast hopefully. You are such an inspiration you motivate me to become a better person physically. Hope this cleanse can help me start my journey. mandyr8810@gmail.com!!!!
ReplyDeleteI would love to win! My NY's resolution is to lead a healthier life!

Ok... i thought i left my comment, but its possible i spazzed out! Here i go again...
ReplyDeletehi! I would love to try the 10 day cleanse! I'm getting married on May 2nd so my new years resolution is to lose 15lbs by then (and also become more organized!), so trying the diet bet looks like its right up my alley... plus i have the gym and WW in my corner! After that its high hopes for a pregnancy!
Happy New Year!!!
Can't wait for your little boy to be born this year!! I'm also excited to see how you go about getting back in shape after giving birth:) My new years resolution is to get in the best shape ever and be consistently healthy the whole year. I'm generally a healthy person but last year I've been on and off with my eating/exercising and I don't want to be like that this year. Happy new years!!
ReplyDeleteMy New Year Goal is to get healthy. Not to lose weight, (although that would be awesome), but to get healthy. To fuel my body with healthy foods and exercise because it feels good. My motivation is lacking, so this cleanse would be great for me.
ReplyDeleteMy New Years resolution is to lead a healthier lifestyle. I plan to do this by taking baby steps, because when I try to go into something full force I ALWAYS fail. I want to clean up my diet and start exercising regularly. I have two girls (ages 13 and 15 months) that I want to set a good example for. I think the cleanse would be a good jump start and would love to try it. My email address is awojtach79@gmail.com.

P.S.: Keep up the great work with the blog. I love and look forward to your posts!
My new years resolution is to get the best year ever and be consistent about exercising/eating healthy. Happy new years! Can't wait to see your little boy:)
ReplyDeleteMy goals, instead of resolutions, are to run 6 halfs and PR at least 2 of them and to find positive in every situation, even the crappy ones :)

Hey Meg!!
ReplyDeleteIf I had to just choose one of my resolutions for 2014 I would say that I want to finally reach my goal weight of 150 pounds. In the past year and a half, I lost 98 pounds and then gained 20 back in the last four months. I need to get my ass back on the wagon!!
My email is ameliatraynor9652@gmail.com
I would love to try the cleanse. I normally don't make new year's resolutions, but am just looking forward to having a healthier year in general. It's been a rough 12 months for me and I just want a clean slate. Thanks! :)

I read a blog (babebeforebaby) and she had a post about giving yourself some grace. that is what I am going to do this year. Last year I was really hard on myself and focused on "not meeting the goal" and never celebrated how close I got, the gains I made. I was too focused on the finish line and this year I am going to enjoy the journey.

I have never done a cleanse but I really want to try it, as I need a kick in the butt!!! My goals for 2014 are to pause (enjoy moments more and not get so caught up in my thoughts), be kind, and explore. My fitness goals are to mix it up a bit...I have run 2 marathons and several halfs but I think Im a little burnt out from running...I want to get back into spinning, swimming, and lift more! My email is melissa(dot)luchau(at)gmail(dot)com.
ReplyDeleteMy resolution is more water, half marathon and to NOT "emotionally" eat! Fuel my body correctly!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Megan! Happy New Year! This year my resolutions consist of many things: 1)Organization. Mostly my house (and my car). 2)Following through with my diet and not letting one day of bad eating derail me from reaching my goal as I have the past two years. 3)Enforcing the healthy eating at home for my entire family and limit eating out to no more than twice per week, and not at fast food places. 4)In contrast to last year where I completed five 5Ks, this year I hope to do at least that many, but run the ENTIRE race each time improving my time each race with the ultimate goal of completing an obstacle 5K. 5)Not letting other people's opinions influence me and my decisions nearly as much as I have in the past. Thanks! Susan Fields (sfields9404@yahoo.com or sfields9404@gmail.com)
ReplyDeleteMy one little word for 2014 is CHOICES. It ties into realizing that I have choices and I can make better choices if I fail the first time.
ReplyDeleteWould love to try the cleanse!

ReplyDeleteMy resolution is to treat myself better. I, like everyone else, am my own worst critic. I am great at being optimistic about everyone else's situation but when it comes to my own, I can only focus on the negative. I need to be kinder to myself (the way I think about myself)... and in turn I think I will be a better wife, mother, sister, friend, employee.. you name it. the sky is the limit this year. Here's to 2014!

ReplyDeleteMy new years resolution is to stress less about things I can't control and get into the gym as often as I can. I want to clean up my eating and would certainly use the cleanse to kick that off, too.
ReplyDeleteHi Skinny Meg! Currently I am about 300lbs, the biggest I have ever been in my life. And my new years resolution is to get my butt into gear! This means eating clean and working out at least 6 days a week. My best friend is getting married at the end of May so that will be my short term goal! Thanks so much for your inspiration!

I've been following you for almost a year now! We were pregnant at the same time too, which was fun. I had my baby girl almost two months ago and I'm working to "bounce back". Your fun, spunky personality and workouts/tips that you post keep me going. :) Thanks so much and keep up the AWESOME work on your fit pregnancy. :) I look forward to another year of awesomeness. :)

My resolution this year is to treat my body better. I am 36 and was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis almost a year ago. I know that eating better and treating my body right will not only help with the RA, but also my overall health. I am going to start with a cleanse and go from there. I hope to lose 30 pounds this year and then maintain.

My resolution is to get healthy and lose this baby weight once and for all! My son is about to turn two so I'd say it's about time. :) I'm 15 pounds down and have about 25 pounds left to go. I'm aiming for 15 pounds smaller than I was when I got pregnant. It's tough because I absolutely love good food and beer but I know it will all be worth it in the end.
