Weekend Recap: Thanksgiving 2013

The four day weekend was absolutely fabulous! I got so much done and had a blast with my family! Thursday we cleaned and put up Christmas decor most of the morning because my Mom had to work until 3.  I'm so pregnant I decided to let Madison have free reign on of the tree.

Most of the ornaments ended up in one spot, but if she likes it I love it. I had 2 full boxes I just didn't put up, I got tired. haha. My family came over and we ate, you HAVE to make this dessert, it's the BEST dessert I've had in a long time!

We played some games, Yahtzee being a big hit with the toddler. There MAY have been a MAJOR meltdown during Candyland. It MAY have been after I pulled the awesome skip ahead card and MAY have gloated and rubbed my belly causing the tired toddler to completely meltdown and run away. Guess I need to work on being a good winner :)

I have to say I'm pretty bummed about 'Black Friday' starting on Thursdays now. After cleaning and cooking all day who the heck wants to go shopping until midnight? Not me. My Mom and I decided to skip it and head to our favorite spot, Canton, for a girls day.

Outfit from Naartjie and Jacket from H&M
Some times you go and find nothing, other times you find everything. I was finding everything and luckily we brought the truck although Madison was not pleased about being squeezed in.

I didn't even feel guilty for enjoying this amazing corn dog.

Madison loved her's too, but she MIGHT be too big for the stroller now. She's was driving me a little batty with the "Mommy, look CHEVRON!" every 3 minutes {it's literally everywhere out there}, but over all she's a great shopping partner. When she got tired we let her play with our phones in the stroller.

I found the CUTEST coffee table and Oliver bitched the whole time he had to help me carry it in. He was over it about 30 minutes later. Wish he would just skip the nagging and get to the part where he realizes he actually likes it. I mean it TOTALLY matches the carpet, duh.

I also got a really cute canvas for my dining room, it's similar to Kelly Rae Roberts, but it's not her work. I'm kinda wishing I bought a bigger one for my bedroom, guess I'll have to go again next month :)

The weather was stunning and the weekend was filled with fun. I'm blessed with such a great family and I'm thankful for every single one of them, even my brothers who didn't show up :) You two can always redeem yourself at Christmas!

  15. My daughter is six and I still push her in a stroller. It's a heck of a lot easier than letting her run around. I'd spend more time chasing her than shopping. She loves it too so I'm pulling out the stroller for as long as she can squeeze into it!
