Third Trimester Bumpdate

27 Weeks then and now, I like comparing these pics and knowing that I'm kicking ass this time around. I don't weigh myself because, really, I'm pregnant and there's just not a lot I can do if I think the number is too high, so why stress myself? I will weigh myself March 5th, the day before my c-section. I decided to just do another one for a few reasons, one is that I want my tubes tied, and the other is because Madison's birth was just a terrible terrible day. I labored all day, pushed for hours, and still ended up having surgery. Even if I choose a vbac I could very well end up in the same situation and I just don't want the stress. I have no desire to actually push a baby out and honestly the only reason I considered a vbac was so I could get back to the gym quicker, maybe. Surgery does suck, but I'm hoping the 2nd time will be easier for me now that I'm in shape.

Baby Aiden is measuring right on track at 2.6 pounds with a HR of 135. I passed my GD test, my levels all look great, my placenta is low which could cause some spotting, but nothing dangerous.

Sundy Runday was a disaster. Oliver, Meredith, and I all planned on doing 13.1 in place of the canceled half from last weekend, no problem. Well poor Oliver cramped up pretty bad because all the water fountains were off at the lake, so no water. I missed my window to get this done apparently, I started off so good, then it just got harder and harder, finally I had to throw in the towel and call for a ride.

It's frustrating when your mind and heart want to do something, but your body won't. Remember that chick who ran a marathon at 9 months, she must have had a pelvis of steel! I'm ok with cutting back to 6 or so for the next 79 days :)

Twilight Sparkle got her weekend workout in too, she's really enjoying gymnastics. I was only going to keep her in for the soccer off season, but now I think I'll have to find a way to add it in with dance and soccer.

Everyday there is a mad dash for my Bump Nest pillow as soon as I'm not using it. I'm so glad I bought this, it's freaking awesome. Madison is rocking my Brady Band, she loves to dig around and wear anything of mine she can.

She's also ready for baby Aiden, she keeps telling me how she's going to feed him with my booby. Not real sure how that's gonna work, but I can tell she's going to be a great help!

  3. you look so freakin great!!!!!! I'm with you on the s-section. My 1st was hard, but the 2nd and 3rd were pieces of cake. I knew what to expect and the recovery was so easy. Good Luck to both of you!!!

  5. Ok, a half with no water? That is ridiculous! At least misery loves company. You're still a total badass for making it 1 mile, let alone 11.

Also, TS has some seriously awesome legs. Is it weird that I look at your 4 year old child and am jealous of her toned calves? Maybe...hahaha

Congrats on passing your GD test (that stands for god damn right?) and choosing a C-section. You're going to have a super chill birth, and you'll be up and around before you know it. :)

  8. I had an emergency C-section with my daughter after she wasn't going to come naturally and elected to have a C with my son too. I thought about doing a VBAC and I could, the problems with my daughter weren't going to affect this delivery but I still chose to. No big reason other than that she weighed 9 lbs 10 oz and I could have sworn he was going to be bigger. My doc was all for whatever I decided but did seem to admit (he never came out and said it but seemed to) that a C was better for me. My son ended up weighing just over 9 lbs but my pelvis is slightly titled and I never dilated. I did NOT want to labor for hours and end up having a C after going through the emergency C before. My body healed quickly with both and although I'm not where near in shape like you, I felt fine after about a week or two once the actual healing of everything occurred. Two of my friends had C's their first time and one went instantly back into running, the other has been working out slowly and both are doing great. So good luck, enjoy the last bit of your pregnancy! You look great!!! Look at the difference in your arm and booty.. that's where I can really see it! :)

  10. You really do look fantastic - it's so fun to see the comparison. I've been doing that a lot lately too - comparing this prego with old prego pics. It does help. Even though I am still gaining weight like crazy, I feel like my shape is different this time and I'm stronger etc. I didn't make it to the gym past week 24 in my other 2 pregnancies, so the fact I'm still getting there in week 26 is an accomplishment for me.

I also stopped weighing myself - about 2 weeks ago I think. I would send myself into tears everytime and so my thoughts are very much like you - why make myself stressed over it when I can't do much? I will also weigh in right before my Csection so I know where my starting point was (for weightloss).

I'm just so impressed you are still running. My pelvis feels like it's going to break in half or crumble and my legs will fall off one by one. My fav's right now are the stairmaster or elliptical. I can't even really do the treadmill - too much pelvic pressure. that is all to compliment you and say you are a rock star!!!

  11. Your looking good! Kudos to you for getting out there to run! Even if you had to call it quits, it's still great that you get out and do what you can! Love the pictures of your bump! Too cute!

  12. I had csection with both my girls, my recovery with #2 was much much quicker...I think bc I had another one that I had to tend to and could not always sleep when the baby slept. Good Luck hope it goes smooth!!

  13. LMAO on her feeding him haha!

I did the scheduled c section with #2 and #3 and do not regret it one bit. I'm actually surprised you had the option to try for v-back, I don't think it's "legal" here in CA anymore (sounds weird doesn't it?)

  15. You look amazing! I'm 27 weeks now too and I haven't run in a while because I feel like I have to stop and go to the bathroom every, oh I don't know, 2 minutes (ugh) but you've inspired me to at least get out there and try one more time! Congrats on being in the 3rd trimester! Almost there! Woohooo!!

  16. The second C-section will be so much easier! Mine was at least. Don't get me wrong, surgery is surgery so yes its still painful. But...its almost like your body says...yeah yeah we've done this before and its really not that bad. Or....its just that you have so much crap going on with a baby and a toddler that you just say screw it and push through. I do recommend getting a band you wear around your tummy after the c section (cant remember what its called) but it held my incision and belly when I moved and really cut down on the pain!!Good luck. You will do great!!

  17. The second c-section is so much easier than the first! I highly recommend getting a belly binder for afterwards though! I asked my doctor for one at the hospital and they brought me what looks like a giant ace bandage to wrap around my waist and hips. I wore it for at least 4 weeks and feel that it helped with recovery tremendously! :)
