Gift Guide {Twilight Sparkle Style}

I'm just going to admit something right now. I'm a sucker for my kid.

She's just so dang cute and says the funniest things. I literally want to eat her face every day. I honestly said we were only going to buy her ONE thing for Christmas. Fail.
I can't help myself, so I'd thought I'd share what I'm buying the kid.

1. Crayola Widescreen Light Designer: Just another unique and fun way for her to express her creativity. Her drawings are mostly limited to smiley faces, but if she likes it I love it.

2. Nerf Rebelle Pink Crush Blaster: Play guns, pink for her and a blue one for Daddy. They love to have gun and sword fights, Aiden will fit right in one day! I think there has also been a request for remote control cars for them both also.

3. YogaDirect Fun Yoga Mat For Kids - Butterfly with the Storyland Yoga: Yoga for Kids and Families (ages 3 to 8): She's really enjoying doing the yoga dvd I bought her so I bought a kid sized mat with another video I think she'll enjoy.

4. Fintie Casebot Kiddie Case for iPad min : OK, I really really struggled with this gift, I just feel wrong somehow for buying a FOUR year old an iPad. I don't even have one {granted I don't want one}, but it seems extravagant for a toddler. I thought about it for month, she has had two Innotabs in the last two years plus multiple games which equals about half the price of the iPad. We also have a Kindle Fire, but lets be honest, Google just isn't the same as Apple's interface and even she knows it.  Given how many more options you have for the iPad {games, books, movies, apps} I just decided to bite the bullet and get one. I did get her the mini and this pretty case to keep it safe.

5. Disney Toddler Skates: She's never been skating, but no better time to learn than now. Of course with all the proper pads and helmet.

6. My Little Pony - Singing Twilight Sparkle: She's an interactive singing pony, need I say more? My little Twilight Sparkle just loves her ponies :)

Flashback to her very first Christmas, ahhhhh she was so much cheaper then!

What fun things are you guys buying for your kids?

  1. The only thing my 4 year old daughter wants for Christmas is an ipad. I struggled with that decision as well. I started to just get her the Nabi 2, but for the price you pay on top of some of the bad reviews I've seen I finally just bit the bullet and said ok lol. I am homeschooling her now, but when she was in daycare they had an ipad in the room so I figure it's a good investment for her future...yeah...that's what I'm going with :)

  2. My daughter will be 12 tomorrow and let me tell you - she was a lot cheaper at 4!! No super fun toys for her this year - it is all about brand names - James Avery ring, Bear Paw boots, Miss Me jeans, Abercrombie everything. Ugh!! I miss the younger days when I could have wrapped up a box and she would have been happy. Lol. Actually, ironically, she asked for big boxes to build a fort so she is ALL grown up!

  3. My 4 year old wants a Leap Pad 2. I'm still debating on this. She will definitely be getting lots of PINK toys. She will tell everyone she meets "Pink is my signature color." If you can't place that quote then you haven't truly lived!! lol

If you can't place that quote then you haven't truly lived! lol. She has also requested My Little Pony and things for her barbies. That's all she wants. Oh, and a bow and arrow for her daddy to shoot deer, ha!

  6. Chloe's big gift is the Barbie Dream House. I know she'll love it, but she keeps saying how she wants another LeapPad. My mom is getting her the LeapPad, and I hope it doesn't upstage Santa's gifts!! :) I'm like you. As long as the kid is happy, I'm happy! I love the light designer. I have really only bought her the dreamhouse and a few Barbie dolls. I should look into that as well.

  8. She is so cute. Love the first Christmas picture. I have a 3 year old and every time a commercial comes on she says "put that on your list". The big thing so far is the Doc McStuffin's check up center. I'm pregnant too. There is something magical about being pregnant over Christmas! Our own little Christmas miracle.

  9. We are getting our 3 year old an ipad mini. She is with us up at the CrossFit for 5-6 hours a day and uses mine... and I kind of want it back. So she gets her own. A little outrageous? Maybe. But I would do anything to make her happy!

  13. My son is getting the kindle fire and the samsung kid tablet thing. I feel crazy for getting him two tablets but to my defense his grandma bought one. These days children are getting more and more things less and less. Wonderful Christmas list for her!

  16. These are great gifts! Last year we bought the Nabi, but he doesn't use it very often. The iPad has so much more to offer and for our little guy is a lot more user friendly. We should've gone with the iPad.

  19. Your comments on the iPad vs. Kindle were interesting to me (not in a bad way). I got the Kindle Fire HDX for my 10 year old. She mainly uses it for watching videos, etc. on you tube or netflix and I want her to use it more for reading so for the price I got it for (hello $50 off on Cyber Monday) I'm good with it. We have a family iPad that I literally NEVER use. Love the pretty pink case for her iPad. I must find something similar for the kindle. :) Happy Holidays!

  20. My 10 year old is also a big MLP fan. I scored at Hot Topic - found a MLP throw, pillowcase (with ALL the ponies) and an insulated tumbler. The have a big selection of MLP - I think for the Bronies (grown men who are MLP fans - google if you dare!) I also found a MLP Monopoly game at Barnes and Noble - a little pricey, but I had 25% off so it wasn't too bad. Can't wait to see her face on Christmas morning!!

  21. We just bought my boys (4 and 5 years old) mini iPads for their birthdays last month. I feel like they get a lot of stares when we let them play them while we are waiting to be seated at a restaurant or when we were on the plane and my family judges me for buying them a $300 gift, but who cares. I have the money to buy it, they get a ton of use out of them and after having a LeapFrog pad that's batteries died every other day and screens got dented making the $10-20 games not work, this overall is a better deal.

  22. My son doesn't have his own ipad but I'm pretty sure he spends more time on mine than I do! Great gift, I'm sure she will be super excited with it!!

  24. Hi Meg- every year I swear that I will ONLY buy one big gift and a few smaller gifts...yeah right. I decided to buy both my boys tablets but couldn't justify the iPad price. I have an iPad and a macbook and wouldn't trade for the world and really wanted to get them tablets so they would stay off of mine, lol!! I went with the Kindle Fires for them. It will do what they need it to do. The other "Big" item I got them is Beats headphones. I sure hope they are worth the price....clothes and video games will finish out their gifts! Merry Christmas to you and your family!!

  28. Thanks for all the great ideas. Definitely getting the rebel nerf for my oldest and her daddy to have fun too. I also was hesitant with the iPad purchase for an almost 4 year old but she plays with the grandparents all the time when they visit. It's the world we live in now and as long as we keep a good balance I think it's just fine.

  29. What does your typical weekly fitness routine look like? I'm having such a hard time coming up with a good schedule for lifting weights heavy enough for each body part and still including running and giving myself at least 2 rest days!!! Any suggestions?

  30. I'm a Stella & Dot consultant and recently got a new iPad mini. So we have cleaned off our old iPad and bought a fun case just for our daughter. Yes I felt ridiculous but when I looked at other systems and compared prices it just made so much more sense to have one thing that would have apps-learning and game, videos, etc. So I totally understand…people think we are crazy.
