MiniSkinny Bumpdate Week 7

MiniSkinny is giving my lots of grief right now over food. Everything sounds disgusting and I dry heave when I know I have to eat. Last Sunday I made this chicken casserole to eat for lunch during the week, I opened it Monday and it was not good, barf, ugh. :(  I just can't bring myself to touch any raw meat and cooking is out of the question right now. Cereal and fruit are still OK, but I'll be honest I'm getting fruited out.
So with Oliver being out of town last week I had no one to cook for me which meant I ate out every single night, mostly baked potatoes, which I seem to be craving. I'm going to pray for this phase to go by quickly, I'm missing all my regular food. Oliver is back finally so he's on food duty for a while, but he's leaving again for two weeks in August! Ugh. Twilight Sparkle hasn't mastered cooking yet, unless I want a fruit snack and a box of juice.

I did a lot of running this weekend, 14 miles between Saturday and Sunday, the weather was glorious and it's a sin to waste nice weather in July in Dallas. I bought this Nathan Hydration Vest to help keep my hydrated on longer runs.

I absolutely love it and I wish I had bought one years ago! I haven't run with a CamelBak, but I went and tried them on at a sporting goods store and it felt more like a backpack because the material is a heavy canvas. The Nathan Hydration Vest has super soft material { no chaffing!} that was moisture wicking, and was very comfortable to run in, the water sloshing takes a little getting used to, but by mile 2 I totally forgot about it.  I love the design with the two clips up front, kinda felt like it was made perfectly for a women's body. The drinking spigot had a clip so it didn't bounce around and the extra pockets were perfect for my phone and Gu's.

Plus everyone knows you run faster, longer, better when you are hydrated!

Twilight Sparkle and I were finally reunited after a very long a depressing week where I learned my life sucks without my kid.

Rocking her 'Mommy Hair' in her Brady Band and ponytail which is what I look like all weekend.

She was glued to my side and talked talked talked my ear off :) I spent the weekend redoing my guest bath, I am over the purple.

I installed a new light fixture, painted the walls, and refinished the cabinets. Twilight Sparkle wasted half a roll of tape 'helping', but hey one day she really will be able to grab a roller and pitch in!

She showed me her new 'trick' - trying to make the vein in her neck pop out. THIS is why she can't be alone with Daddy too long!

I'm thinking it may be the last time for these Express pants, but I love this cute crochet top from Sugar Love Boutique!

Love,
SkinnyMeg

  1. Twilight Sparkle was gone only for a week and she came back looking so grown up! I was sick like that with both of my boys, when I was pregnant. All I could keep down and wanted was smoothies. I ended up losing 16lbs (NOT on purpose) from the morning sickness, but then gained it all back in the second trimester.

  2. Madison is getting so tall! Do you eat the peel with the baked potato? I ask because I was craving tomatoes and baked potatoes like crack head craves crack early on and come to find out, my potassium was low and that is why I was craving that particular food. I totally stand by the notion that your body/and baby will tell you what you need to eat! Glad your girl is back home with you.

  3. With both my pregnancies I couldn't touch raw chicken or steak for the entire time. The only thing I could cook was ground beef/turkey. It is so weird the little things we never think about bothering us. I craved cereal and fruit the entire time.

  6. Looks like a fun weekend! I've been thinking of getting a water pack but not being a serious fully dedicated runner stops me. I get dehydrated really easily and constantly have to drink so when I do run I have a water bottle fanny pack but it slides around my waist and annoys me. Maybe I'll put this on my christmas list!

  9. Wow. I am so with you on the food thing right now. If I get too hungry, I get nauseous. But at the same time absolutely NO FOOD on the planet sounds good to me. It is a no win situation. I've been eating cereal, and bread stuff - which really goes against clean eating but seriously whatdoyado?! Good luck with finishing out the yucky tummy stuff. I'm so inspired by your training! I had to take the week off due to some spotting but i am dying to get back to the gym when I can. i feel like my muscles are already atrophy-ing. Is that a word? lol

  10. I'm now in my 19th week of pregnancy and my appetite is finally coming back. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I hated most food weeks 5-11. :( Especially any form of meat. I lived off of carbs, fruit, and carbs. I'm slowly starting to eat more meat, but any huge hunks of meat still make me want to vom. Hoping yours goes by quicker than mine!! :)

  14. The trick to minimize the water sloshing is to turn the bladder upside down after filing it and suck all the air out. I couldn't stand the sloshing and that really helped me.

  18. Ohh I feel for you with the food!! My first pregnancy was like that the whole time! My second, wasn't as bad. I could not handle chicken in any form!! I hope it passes for you soon!!! Cereal and Popsicles were my life! Fitness question....when you first started running, did your shins hurt? Do I just push through this?

  23. I feel for you when it comes to the food thing. For the first 6 months of my pregnancy I couldn't even be in the same room as food, unless it was a loaded baked potato and steak. Hubby had to do all the cooking because I literally couldn't walk into the kitchen without dry heaving (sometimes worse). He even did dishes for the 9 months I was pregnant. Hang in there.

I recently followed your other bathroom re-do of hanging a curtain in front of the ugly shower door! LOVE IT! Still need to paint the wood vanity....hubby trying to talk me out of it....damn! knew I should not have told him my plan! ;)
