My Wedding.

Oliver and I started dating in 2000, 7 years later I had earned that nice ring.

No one was more excited than my Mom, so I let her plan pretty much the entire thing. I was working a lot and this was before Pinterest so I didn't have any grand ideas that I just HAD to have.  I picked out my dress, spent close to 3k on it, but everything else was her. I'm glad she did it, I just got to enjoy myself and have fun without all the stress.

We were married on 8\4\07 {my Mom's birthday} at the Victorian House in Kaufman, TX. It was a package thing, location, food, music, etc. this makes planning much less stressful!

It was hot. We had a 6pm ceremony and started drinking around 9am, a whole day dedicated to me is pretty much my dream come true.

My colors were purple, even I'm surprised I didn't do pink :) Good thing chevron wasn't IN then!

My brother and sister.

The cake was amaretto.

My Mom could not bustle my dress.

Oliver and I danced to Etta James At Last for our first dance.

I MAY have shoved cake in his face which in turn caused him to CHASE me and throw me to the ground and shove cake in mine.
He was drinking all day too :)

There was tequila and beer.

My oldest brother Daniel gave an amazing speech that had us all crying.

My Mom looked gorgeous.

My brothers and cousin got hot and jumped in the pool.
The sign CLEARLY stated no swimming.

We left in a blaze of fireworks.

The next day we left for Jamaica.

The thing I remember the most about my wedding was that is was FUN. I had fun, Oliver had fun, and our guests had fun, which is exactly what I hoped for.

  11. I am totally going to be THAT mom that plans her daughter's wedding. I didn't plan anything about mine. I made my Mom do it all because I wanted no part in it (I hate attention), but when it comes to someone else's, I'm all over it! (I took over my sister's wedding). Congratulations!

  17. I love FUN weddings. Especially those that the bride and groom get to have FUN! That was the main thing I wanted for my wedding - that my guests all had a great time. I wanted the vibe to be a wedding that had a huge party afterward. No formalities, no stress over the ceremony. The most I stressed about that day was getting lined up, do to the walk in where the DJ intros everyone... It was chaos and I didn't have it all together thank GOODNESS for my maid of honor. Looking back we really didn't need to do that.. the DJ got half the names wrong which is funny on the video. Your day looks like it was a blast... pass the tequila and let's party :)

  18. Seven years? That gives me hope! Although our 7 years was in April and I'm still waiting. I kind of wonder if I decide we're getting married and tell him, will that work? Probably but I want to be asked danggit. :(

And by the way - you were a beautiful bride!

  21. What a fun wedding! I would have loved for my mom to plan my wedding. All she did was give me some money and I knew that she would help me if I needed it.

  22. Just wanted to say I love your story. (And I love a good wedding party. When my husband and I got married, that was our bigger priority. We wanted people to come and feel comfortable and have a blast.)
