Running, Eating, and Shopping. My Trifecta.

I had a fabulous weekend! Friday my youngest brother Ben graduated from UTD with a degree in Molecular Biology, I have no idea what you would even do with that :) haha. He's our little scientist.

Friday night Oliver got off work in time to come to my co-ed game, he likes them better than my women's league, more exciting he says.

My foot was still a little sore and while I played it felt fine, probably because of the adrenaline, but when I got home it was hurting pretty bad so I iced it down for a while in preparation for my 10 mile run on Saturday.

A few of us got together and ran White Rock Lake, it was so freaking humid out, I was drenched in sweat by mile 3. Overall it was a pretty good run, Amber and I have the same pace about a 9:15 and there were lots of people out so it made time go by faster. I love running with friends, much less boring then running my neighborhood by myself.

After that Mama L and I went bathing suit shopping, ugh. I've never been to Everything but Water, but we wanted to go and see if expensive suits are really worth the extra dollars. Before we went I went through the website and picked out a few I liked, mostly one pieces like this one....

Surprisingly one pieces are not that flattering on my body shape, when I cover up my midsection your eyes are drawn to my legs, not my best feature. I ended up with a really cute nautical bikini, worth every penny because it holds the girls in nice and tight which I don't get with cheaper suits.

Oliver had taken Twilight Sparkle to Scarborough Faire Renaissance Festival with his parents, I guess she was having a great time graduating from Sword Fighting School and wouldn't be home until late.

I went and had a fabulous LONG pedicure, nothing I hate more than place who rush through them, but I picked a good quiet spot and napped through the entire 90 minutes. Heaven.

I finished just in time to meet my parents and brother at the movies to see Star Trek in IMAX 3D. It was my first IMAX movie and it was awesome, that Captain Kirk sure is a little hottie :) Afterwards we decided to check out the new burger place nearby, Burger Fi. Their burgers are all natural beef and they are all about the environment and being green, the place was super cute and the food was good.  I can't remember the last time I had a burger so that may be swaying my judgement :) The fries were heaven, topped with parmesan and herbs.

Uh, that was a small order of fries!

I met Twilight Sparkle back at the house, we bathed and sat down to relax. She's obsessed with my jammies, won't wear anything else to bed.

One minutes she's talking up a storm, then she lays down between Oliver and I and say 'Princess is tired" next thing I know.....

Holding tight to her tiara even in her sleep :)

Sunday I had a Bachlorette party at 8:30AM! When I first read the invite I thought it was a mistake, but nope it really was in the morning. We all went and had a private yoga lesson at Super Palace Yoga, which was AMAZING. I wish I lived close enough to go once a week because I felt so good when we were done. She focused more on deep stretching which is EXACTLY what I need. I may have to find time to go to a class in my area, my legs are just so tight from running and soccer.

Shirts from Ruffles with Love.

Then we went and had brunch at Bread Winners, which was freaking delish. Honestly one of the best brunches I've ever had, there may have been a Frozen Peach Mimosa and chocolate pie.

No joke, the people who sat behind us brought their bird, TIGER. If that wasn't weird enough they actually put the table reservation UNDER THE BIRDS NAME, like he was a celebrity or something. Only in Uptown.

That's all I got, hope y'all had a fab weekend as well!

  1. Oh my goodness, Twilight Sparkle is so stinkin cute. You have the busiest weekends ever!

  2. I can't wait to see the swim suit you picked. I'm sure it is super cute! I loved running with you. It was nice to catch up...I feel like we haven't been able to really talk in forever. Love ya!

  3. Sounds like you had a great weekend!! That pie looks amazing!!

  4. You girls look SO relaxed at the yoga studio! What a great idea for a bachelorette party! I love it!

  5. I love Twilight Sparkle!! LOL! She is so adorable....there are days that I wish I had a little girl...Yoga sounds awesome! I need some in my life! :)

  6. Sounds like a wonderful (and yummy) weekend :)

  7. Love the weekend wrap ups! Feels like I got to hang with you all weekend!

  8. I can't get enough of Twilight Sparkle & that bird! Hahaha! Great weekend lady!

  9. Way to go on your 10 miler! Thats great. I also cannot wait to see your bikini.

  10. Wow! A pet bird at a restaurant, never seen that one. Definitely find a place to stretch out your muscles especially your legs. I just had a back surgery for a herniated disc, which could have been from not stretching appropriately after crossfit. Take care of yourself.

  11. I really wish I had some local friends that wanted to go running or even to a fitness class! You're so fortunate!

And THANKS! There is an Everything But Water where I live, but never checked it out. Now I have to! ;)

  12. What a fun bach. party!!!!
    Thanks for posting about it!
My friend is getting married next year and does not drink, go out!!!!
    This is perfect!!!! :)

  13. OMG OMG!! I know Tiger's owner! HAHAHA! How funny is that?? My husband & I met him when he worked at LSU as a student worker. We'd lost touch & a couple of years ago we were in Arlington for the LSU/Oregon football game & he happened to be sitting behind us. We're friends on FB now & I see all the weird stuff they do with that bird. I swear NEVER in a million years would I EVER EVER EVER have expected him to be the type to have a bird that he treats like a child.

Make my day and leave me a love note!
