Talking About Under Wears

This post is dedicated to what I wear UNDER my cute clothes, so if you aren’t cool with looking at pics of me in my bra then click away now. You’ve been warned ☺ Seriously.

I think everyone knows by now that I had some ginormous boobies. I think my biggest size was a 40 F. When I was larger I LOVED bras from Lane Bryant, they were not only comfy, but they were CUTE.  I spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars on bras because I was always on the hunt for the best bra, you know the one that made my boobs look smaller. Guess what, when you are that big it’s pretty much not possible.  Still I was in my 20’s and I wanted to wear cute bras like everyone else my age.
Some of my Favorites!

Not so great on me now.

Now I am a 34D, which makes me even happier than wearing a smaller size jean! I seriously HATE my boobs with a passion. They used to hurt when I ran, made it impossible to shop for button up shirts, and made bra shopping very expensive.  I can’t just wear any old bra from Target, I did buy a few cheap ones from Kohl’s while I was losing weight, but you can totally tell they are not doing a great job.

I went to Dillard’s and decided to bite the bullet and buy 3, a nude, a black, and a strapless.  After trying on about 12 different pairs I came home with 2 winners and one loser.

Winner: Black with a slight push up.

Winner: Strapless with convertible straps

No joke, I've tried LOTS of strapless bras and this one is HANDS DOWN the best one ever!! No pulling, tugging, adjusting, it was so comfortable!!!
The cute dress is Kiki La Rue :)

Loser: Nude push up

I am just not a fan of true 'push ups' every time I bent over they kinda fall out the top. I'm going to exchange this one for one I tried on and didn't get because it seemed a little 'granny-ish' but I think will be better under t-shirts and such.

Sorry, I can't remember the brand!

If you haven’t yet, please please go get a bra fitting from a reputable place.  I will be honest, not a big Victoria Secret fan {at least for big booby girls} their stuff is cute if you are looking for more fashion than function.  I thought Dillard’s was awesome, I had great service and I think they got my sizing just right the first time. Soma is another good store to check out; I ADORE their stuff, so comfy!! I know Dallas has a great specialty store called The Maddox Shop, they carry pretty much any size {it’s very basic no bright colors here!}  and their staff is very knowledgeable. My only complaint is the wait time, they are always busy!

Now, you’ve all seen me pretty much naked so you know I’ve got some lumps and bumps {don’t we all!} . I’ve tried Spanx’s and they annoy the crap out of me, I have to work up a sweat getting them on and off, considering how much I pee, no thank you. I randomly bought this shaper at Wal Mart one day and I have to say for 15 bucks it’s pretty freaking awesome.

1. No rolling down my stomach when I sit
2. Wasn’t hard to get on or off
3. No cutting into my thigh and making a ring or lump
4. Looked good under the clothes

I also saw this GENUIS idea on Pinterest the other day, to wear a ruffled slip under a too short dress. Umm, yes please! So naturally I immediately went to Etsy and found some. The Slip Shop has TONS of options, colors, fabric, and has adjustable lengths. I may have found a new addiction, hoping mine come in ASAP.

Ok enough about the underwear’s ☺

Don't forget about my Workout Wednesday Link Up tomorrow!

Meet  Lyndsey from Football and Glitter she is a sweet Mama to her precious daughter, Peyton.  Her and the hubs just bought a new house and are busy fixing it up in between working full time and caring for a toddler, whew, no envy here ☺ Be sure to stop by and check out the fabulous color they painted their porch!

  3. You are so cute! That black bra looks great on you(I kinda feel like a perv saying that, lol). You always look so stylish. I agree on Dillards for big tata's. VS is pretty but doesn't do much for 38G! I think I will try Lane Bryant next time. Thanks for sharing!

  4. Giving you some mad props. I've always had big tatas too and still can't find the right bra after losing 125 pounds! I def need to bite the bullet and go bra shopping for the perfect fit!!

  5. Thks girl. As a big chested sista it's hard to find a great strapless so thks for the advice. I agree with VS every time I go there they try to put me in a bra that is to big no bueno.

  6. You should check out bravissimo.com. They have pretty, supportive bras in larger sizes - not just plain black and nude. They even have super cute bikinis and tankinis with built in bras too. I love shopping for bras and swimsuits since I've discovered them!

  7. I am desperate for a new strapless. My VS one cuts into my boobs, my armpits, my back, my everywhere. Halfway through the day in the strapless, these 36DDs are ready to just free-boob it -- which, while comfortable for me, would be not-so-pretty for everyone else. :)

  8. Do you know why I read you every week? Because you are honest and real and because you answer the questions everyone really wants to know the answers to! I know a few girls who have much larger breasts than me that are worried that once they lose weight they will be saggy or strange and they won't know which bra to wear and how to handle it. And here you are, showing the world your bras and shapers so that others know! Love it and love you!

  9. I love Lane Bryant bras! I swear by them! I've worn them for 15+ years! I don't think I could ever wear anything different. Some walmart bras give the cone shape and this momma wouldn't dare go out looking like Madonna did in the 90s! haha

  10. Thanks for the Bra reviews. Especially the strapless one. I'm a 36D and I've had the WORST time finding a strapless one that doesn't make it look like I have 4 boobs. I'll definitely check it out.

  11. Girl, your tatas are looking fabulous in those new bras! I'm having a (sort of) similar problem now too.. I've got that dang bra gap from shrinking boobies. Except my 34B's are now like mosquito bites. Waa-waa. Maybe I'll try out Dillards soon for a bra fitting - thanks for the tip!

  12. Seriously hate VS! They do nothing for me. Some of the best bra's I ever purchased were from Target. But then again my favorite bra cost way too much to mention. Booooo! Anyway, thank you for the tips because I needed them.

  13. I love Dillards and their service and what a great idea about the slip. Love it.

  14. I have the same issue finding good bras. Let's face it - the ones that fit well (like your nude one above - I just bought one exactly like it from VS) just aren't as sexy as the cute ones (that conveniently, your boobs fall out of). I get frustrated finding the right size, too. I have a 34D from VS that is too big, but I had to return my 32DD for a 32DDD because the 32DD was too small. Bra shopping drives me nuts! I wish we could all just wear sports bras all the time!

  15. Thanks for the bra advice! I really need to go be fitted. I am also painting my daughter's room chevron because your chevron paint jobs are so cute!!

  16. This is really Robin... not Jodi. Ummm... thanks for the bra info, but what about your butt? I'm still on the big side and need shit that doesn't crawl up my crack and the one style I loved at VS is no longer 'built the same' so wearing holes from the dog eating mine that I am trying to sew and save until I find something else.

  17. Holy chest-ical transformation girl!

I am so happy you wrote about this - I am really looking forward to dropping weight again, because the first place it seems to go away is in my chest. I don't have huge boobs, but they are bigger than I'd like AND they make me seem bigger than I am. I am looking forward to getting them off my chest.

Thanks for all the links and heads up for bras. I'm always looking for a better one!!!

  18. I frickin' love you! You look amazeballs and I love your honesty about wearing something to smooth stuff out! Look forward to Workout Wednesday with you!! :)

  19. Dillard's is THE BEST when it comes to bras! I went in & didn't even know what size I wore. The lady called it by just looking at me & proceeded to bring me tons of amazing bras to try! I ended up going to all Wacoal bras, because after I put them on everything else just wasn't as good in comparison! It was expensive, but so worth it!

  20. you are so cute! i am going to see if i can order those bras. HATE being a part of the big tittie committee! BLAH! and ps. you look AMAZE!

  21. Dang! I need to get my butt (or boobs, I guess) up to Dillards! Desperately need some new bras because my girls are looking a little sad in what I've got now.

This is robin... the neighbor/friend/employee... not Jodi!!!

  23. I have a problem with bra's too. It's very rare that I find that "perfect bra". And even though Victoria Secret has some cute bra's, I've learned that they are not for me. I will have to give Dillards a shot.

  24. Check out Modern Vintage Boutique for super cute dresses and those lacy dress "slips" to wear under too short dresses! I bought I high-low chevron dress there and I LOVE it!!! :)

  25. YAY! I'm glad you got a great bra fitting! And for the record, that black push-up bra is hot! ;)

  26. Best thing I ever did, bra-wise? http://www.reddit.com/r/ABraThatFits/

I learned how to measure properly and found out that I'm not a 38D, I'm a 34H. Blew my mind, but for the first time ever my bra fits. Comfortably. I love that black/slight push-up bra. It's really pretty.

  28. I have the hardest time finding a good strapless bra that doesn't just smash them down. I'm fairly busty (34D) so it's a struggle. Do you remember what brand the strapless bra you just bought is?

  30. Great post! Underwear is not the 1st thing that comes to mind when you think weightloss but after you have dropped a several sizes you begin to realize that it needs to be. I'm headed over to the Slip Shop now. Thanks for the tips!!

  31. Thanks for the recommendations. That black bra looks like it fits perfectly! I hate the boobs popping out the top thing too. I love VS but I have to try everything on and make sure it doesn't have that effect. For some reason every other bra I have tried gives me that lumpy quadruple boob thing. I've even sized up and out and it just doesn't work, so I've stuck with VS. I may have to try the ones you mentioned though.

  32. Um....I wanna see the full dress in that pic of you showing the hi-waist thigh thingies!

  33. Its funny that you posted this because just a couple days ago I was randomly thinking about underpinnings (mine) and thinking that I hated them and wondering where other ladies get theirs. I was thinking more on the bottom though .... because I hate buying packs of cheap panties and I too find that Victoria Secret (in all facets) to be more fashion over function. I'm also a big boob girl so I appreciate your honesty in this post! I'll have to check your brands out!

  34. This Bra is super cute, fits nicely, & love the fact that I can wear it multiple ways. :-) & its seamless so it bearly shows at all! I would recommended JMS Bra

  35. "They should be here" OH MY WORD!!!! HILARIOUS! I've had that thought a few times when I looked at pics of myself. A good bra does wonders!

  36. it fit great, it is very comfortable. I'm glad I bought two because my crazy dog chewed the shoulder straps off of one. The price is great too..
