I know you are all dying to know how I'm fitting the gym in with my new job.
Which I LOVE by the way :)
Here's a few outfit peeks for you via Instagram.
The sweater was from a boutique over the summer, the pants are Apt 9 from Kohl's. I love the tiny mint belt, I really want to buy some more pieces that color.
This cute top I got for a steal on clearance at Kohl's, like this week, so head over and find one because I love it!
I have to leave for work at 7 am everyday, the first thing I do when I get home is to unpack and repack my gym bag. You would think because it's like 8pm I would start dinner, but no I'm making sure I have my gear good to go for the next day.
My original plan was to do cardio at the gym or by running BEFORE I went to work and then do my weights in the evening.
Things kinda changed once I realized the fertility medicine I was on was not having even the tiniest effect on me, my gyno said there was nothing she could do for me and referred me to a infertility specialist. Now, I've talked to her about my 2 hour a day workouts and she said that had nothing to do with my fertility problems, but I decided before spending thousands of dollars at a specialist I should cut back to an hour a day and see what happens.
So, this job came at a perfect time. I found it hard to cut back when I stayed home all day, it was the thing I looked forward to. Now I have new responsibilities that keep me busy and I'm grateful.
I will say I miss my 5pm gym girls :) I can't get there until 6, so I can't make all my favorite classes anymore.
Good thing I have amazing friends who will meet you there later than they have to!

We still go hard.
I'm doing 30 min of cardio and 30 min of weights.
Yeah, I don't get home until 745 every night and I don't eat dinner until 830.
So what, I got to the gym, I make sure to take care of what's important to me.
3 years ago I made the decision that my health was at the top of that list and I plan on keeping it there!
Do I see her less, of course. Do I feel guilty, not a bit.
I know that wherever she is she is having fun and being well taken care of, probably having more fun than if I was sitting home with her.
Why would I feel guilty about that? We have a new routine, we take a bubble bath together every night and talk about our day. She thinks it's the best thing since butter.
It's 'our' time. I know it won't last forever, but it's sure sweet now :)
Happy Thursday!

The hottest working mom around! I love that pink top on you too!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new job! Love your new outfits :)
ReplyDeleteYou are such a wonderful mom! You are such a true role model for her in all you do. Thank you for sharing and I wish we could workout together. I need someone who will push me and encourage me! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteMy comment didn't go through! Arg! Lol! Lets try this again:) You are such s great momma and I'm so proud of you for taking time out for yourself! You are a great role model for your little girl! Wish we could workout together! I need some accountability! Have a wonderful day!!
ReplyDeleteIt is awesome to follow along with you on this journey. I'm finally at a place where I am really dedicating myself to being healthy, and at the end of the year I'll be going back to work too (yay!), so now I can watch you and learn how you are doing things! I remember finding your blog about a year ago and I knew I was going to like you. :) and you just keep on inspiring me!
ReplyDeleteYou look so pretty for your new job! Good Luck. I love the pink sweater.
ReplyDeleteAwesome that you have found a way to continue your workouts, you've made such fantastic progress on your weight loss!
ReplyDeleteYou go girl, your motivation rocks! Just reading your daily routine makes me tired! haha Is your new job Monday thru Friday?
ReplyDeleteGood for you!! You are such a great role model to your daughter and all working moms out there, I am not a mom yet, but I do work all day- I get my workouts in at lunch, but we get long lunches here and its flexible so I am lucky there... I hope one day I can be as good an example to my kid(s) that you are to your little girl!
ReplyDeleteAbout the baby thing, I have a coworker who just got back from maternity leave- she was having trouble concieving and went to an infertility specialist and after the first visit- before any changes/meds/work, she ended up getting pregnant... I think having to work with them just scared her uterus into working, so it may not be a bad idea to go and talk things over with them. Its obvious you are an amazing mom and I hope you get another kiddo! :)
Love that. I'm a working Mama who also fits in the gym. Priorities.
ReplyDeleteGood for you getting it all done. I still feel guilty when I try to get my workout in before everything else but I'm working on that.
ReplyDeleteFinding balance is the key, I workout only in the AM's before my kiddies even get up, mainly bc I love going to bed at like 8. Whatever works for you and your family is all that matters!!
ReplyDeleteGood Luck:)
Same here with packing the gym bag as soon as I get home as well as getting my food ready for my 12 hr day away from home. Your spirit is so good, I know the baby situation brings you down at times but so happy you found a job you love, that is so important. Sounds like you got your schedule down GF. Fridays will now become so much more rewarding now! Sparkle on!
ReplyDeleteOh your outfits are so cute!
ReplyDeleteYou are a superstar. No really, you are!! Woo hoo!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou rock! There is nothing wrong with being a working Mom. Sometimes I feel guilty myself, but what choice do we have to provide for our childeren and be there for them in the long run by being healthy!! You are an inspiration!!
ReplyDeleteAwsome post. I'm glad you don't feel guilty so many moms do. Even me who stays at home with my minis but I know being healthy is a positive for the whole family!
ReplyDeleteLove the honesty Meg!!
ReplyDeleteGlad everything is going well and sending warm thoughts your way for baby # 2!!! :)
You have the same dang schedule that I do, and it's refreshing to see (a lot of my friends are teachers or don't have kids)
ReplyDeleteKudos to you and I love your out fits. I'm a new follower from Mama L :)
I am trying so hard not to feel Mommy guilt. I hit the gym 2 weeknights and on the weekends, but I am finding myself wanting to go more during the week. My husband goes each day before work.. So man.. I need to get ovet my guilt and get there everyday after work. Your such an inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you Megan - so happy. I am not going to lie - I LOVE being a working mom - do people say or think things about me because I spend some of my nights running/working out or LONG runs on the weekend - yep they do. BUT being happy and healthy is important for me too. AND... I love when Wes says - "mommy run" and then Elle says "mom did you win the race". Nope - I haven't won but they KNOW mama takes care of herself and hopefully they carry it on. WOOT WOOT!!!! Go working mama.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the job lady!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the Apt9 pants from Kohl's, especially the Curvy fit. Fabulous! I'm so glad to hear that your new job is going well, too!
ReplyDeleteYou made me tear up a little bit. I am emotional, sue me. Youre such a good mommy, Meg :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you are loving your job! You're outfits are always so cute!
ReplyDeleteI pray that cutting back at the gym will help with the baby making. :)
I'm a fairly new follower on your blog, and it's a new "must read" each day for me.
ReplyDeleteIt's inspiring to know that even with changing your schedule around, you still make time for YOU - which is very important. I also just absolutely LOVE the relationship you have with your daughter. It is so real and true. Kudos to you for making time for you, your family, and your health!
You have made my day! Thanks for inspiring me :) I have been stuck at the same weight for 4 weeks it's been making me bonkers the kicker is I look a lot leaner, thanks to you I'm going to keep on lunging and jumping.
ReplyDeleteYou are awesome! I read this and think to myself why do I not make more time for myself! I know my husband would be cranky if I got home that late but who cares! I just wish I lived alot closer to the gym. With the oldest in school it makes it hard! At least I have noon to go! Such an inspiration! Glad you love your job! Makes life alot easier when you do!
ReplyDeleteHello, I'm a new follower to your blog and I follow you on IG and I absolutely love you! You are such a fitness inspiration! I have two kids and am starting to make working out a priority. At first I struggled with the "mommy guilt" but now I, like you stated, need to make it the top of my to-do list! I love your inspiring words about your daughter being well cared for while you're away at the gym and that's something I have to keep in mind. (Your daughter seems like she is such a blast to hang out with!)
ReplyDeleteLove your blog!

You go girl!! Fitting in the gym is a super important part of being a healthy mom. I get up at 4:15 so I can go to CrossFit 4x a week, still work/blog. I don't get nearly as much sleep as I should but that's another problem for another day... Proud of you for showing your daughter health is important!
ReplyDeleteSo funny- my hubby and I chatted about fertility this am. We had to use fertility treatments with our son. At that point I wasnt working out and got preggo right away. With baby three- we tried with the same meds for a year and nothing but I was running like a fiend! I quit running and was preggo the following month. Not sure if they are correlated or not but in my crazy fertility med infused body/head- it seemed like it. lol
ReplyDeleteSounds to me like you have a gerat thing going :) Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteSounds to me like you have a gerat thing going :) Keep it up!
ReplyDeletefitting it all in is difficult but not impossible. You're such a hard worker girl! Loved this post!
ReplyDeleteGOOD for you making your health a priority! Exactly what us mama's should be doing! When we're better, the entire family unit is better!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with exercising less. When we went to a fertility specialist, it took a few long months, but we finally got pregnant, so every bill, appointment etc was totally worth it!
I love that ruffled pink cardigan! And your hair is perfect!

Congraz on your new job. I have been following you for a while and love your advise on weigh loss and exercise. Keep up the great work and I cant wait for your next workout video. Many blessing to you and your family=)
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this! I will be starting my job Monday after 3.5 years of being a SAHM. It will be quite an adjustment being on a very strict schedule and all. So nice to hear how you're doing :)
ReplyDeleteOne of the things I struggle with is the fact that, like you, I can't start cooking until way later. I'm just not a morning person, and can't get up in the mornings, so my workouts are after work. It does suck that dinner is so late, but I'd rather be working out than being so bored at night that I snack and snack and snack!! Working out has given me something to do! Keep it up, you're doing great!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you like the new job....I know it is hard at first to get everything running smoothly, but looks like you have it all in order :) Way to go girl!!! Enjoy your rest of the week......its almost over! :)
ReplyDeleteYay for a new job!!!
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is going to thank you for being such an awesome role model when she's older. Seeing her mom in shape, being healthy and having fun is very important!!
I went back to work full time 3 yrs ago and it required a shift in how I got my workouts in. I think we are better moms and wives when we feel balanced and that includes working out! Your attitude is so awesome!! Do you ever get run down?
ReplyDeleteLOVIN those outfits!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the balance! I think that's what most of us struggle with. Thanks for the inspiration. ..it helps so very much! And cute sweater!
ReplyDeleteYou're amazing! Period.
ReplyDeleteGood for you hot momma!
ReplyDeleteDon't ever let anyone tell you different about what you are doing. People hate SAHM's and they hate working Mom's too. And to those people, I say suck it!
I am a working mom, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I just wish that I was able to make myself find time to go the gym. That is one of my goals for 2013!
Hope you are loving your job. I am in HR and there are days I love my job and days I wish I worked at McDonalds. But overall, it is a wonderful career!
Loved this! I'm a FT working mom of 3 (twins who are almost 4, and a 1 year old), and we went through fertility treatments to conceive the twins. I've had a few people "wonder" (code for: judge) why we worked so hard to have kids if I still "run off" to the gym several nights a week. Most of the time, I let it roll off (I leave them with their FATHER, not some random stranger off the street)... but still, seeing this blog and others that support the notion that you can be a great mom and make yourself a priority - well, it's nice to get a little reinforcement.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new job! It's always great finding something that you don't hate going to everyday! lol. Keep rocking it at the gym too. My workout plans have changed over time as my daughter grew so I know sometimes it takes a little tweaking. We are almost to the age where she can come into the weights/machine part of the gym with me! She's tall so I'm going to start passing her off as 12 next year, haha! One of the instructors lets her come with me to some aerobics/step/Zumba classes so she enjoys feeling older. She's asks to do runs with me too, so there is some proof that we are passing that healthy lifestyle down :)
ReplyDeleteYour work outfits are the cutest!
ReplyDeleteI know your baby girl is being well taken care of, too.......... But, I can't help but be a little jealous! I wish she was having a blast with ME! ;)
Seriously Megs, you AMAZE me!!!!!
Hi Megan!
ReplyDeleteWhat do you have for breakfast and lunch? Do you have some healthy, low cal ideas that you could share?
Maybe you have already done so and I haven't found it?
I am a new stay at home mom to a five month old and I am in need so healthy options/ideas to get me through until supper. Thanks!!
