Glam Bag and Skin Care

My Glam Bag is here!
Love trying out new stuff, thought I'd share it's contents and thoughts on it.

1. Nailtini Nail Polish: super glitter is always good in my book!
2. Chella Brow Gel: Only wish it was colored and not clear.
3. Starlet Eyeliner: I don't normally wear brown, but I gave it a go. It was just OK.
4. Moxie Gloss in Dare Devil: LOVE. Not a color i would pick, but it looks good on me!
5. Meet Matt{e} Eyeshadow: Great color and pigment. Nice to get away from so much shimmer.

I gave them a whirl....

Still LOVING Glam over my old Birchbag :)

I also have recently been using the Mary Kay Time Wise Microderm Set and my skin is SO SOFT. One of the best I've tried in a while!

The Garnier Overnight Peel is also nice, I feel like my skin is slowly becoming more even.
Ugh, why didn't I believe in sun screen in my 20s??

I'm in the market for some new day cream and I think I may try Serious Skin recommend by a lady with some gorgeous skin.

I need recommendations on eye make up remover, mine isn't cutting it, I still end up with black all over my face even after I take it off. What's your favorite?

Happy Thursday!

  2. I use Clinique take the day off. Trick that I use is wet your cotton round and hold on your eye for approx15 seconds and then wipe off. Usually works although sometimes I have some nice raccoon eyes in the am

  5. I get the Glam bag too! I love the eye liner and the eyebrow gel - wasn't too crazy about the eye shadow or the lip gloss (I don't generally wear shades that dark) but they are awesome on you!!! the nail polish is great for the holidays and I can't wait to try it over some pretty red polish! I love the MK microdermabrasion set - isn't it like the best thing EVER? it really makes such a difference in your skin like IMMEDIATELY. if you find a good eye makeup remover please share because I just use hand soap and I need something stronger!

  6. i am getting all these wrinkles under my eyes and i prefer brands like origins and aveda that are all natural.... but i looked up some ideas and found coconut oil is supposed to help. so for $4 i got a big jar of it, and have been using it for about 5 days and i already see improvement! healthy and thrifty!

  7. I think I need to switch from birchbox to glambag. I have to agree with the post you did on birchbox. They send very little makeup and too much stuff.

I use Vaseline to take me eye makeup off. Always have.

    Have a great day!

  8. Have you tried Mary Kay eye makeup remover? I love it and I also like the Clinique.

  9. I have used the Clinique make-up remover in the past. I liked it. Recently I have tried a bunch (body shop - stung my eyes, olay wipes - felt like i was sanding off my face to try and get everything) and they don't cut it. I have resorted to baby oil. Gets it all off, especially eye crap. Cheap. Multi-purpose. Boom. You're welcome. ;)

  15. Johnson's baby shampoo! :) I wash my face every night with it and then follow with Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel. That helps with any leftover difficult eye makeup but also helps keep acne issues under control.

  17. Try using cold cream to remove your eye makeup. And it gives some extra moisture too.

  18. Try using cold cream and wiping it with a cotton ball to remove your eye makeup. It wipes off completely clean and leaves your skin feeling extra soft.

  22. You should try the Mary Kay eye makeup remover. I'd be happy to send you one to try. It's a great product that is a best-seller of ours. Removes everything, including red lipstick on cream carpet! :) Doesn't affect those with contacts and doesn't hurt with a harsh stingy feeling.

My email is melissa.leander@gmail.com if you'd like one to try or if you already have a consultant contact her!

  23. I would try Mary Kay's eye make-up remover. I love it! It doesn't leave a oily residue when you are through either.

  24. Just got my Glam Bag too.....although I am not thrilled about the actual bag (I think I will give it to my daughter for her "dress up" bin), I'm diggin the contents! And I said the SAME exact thing about the gloss, it goes on very sheer but is very moisturizing and I love the sublte color!

As for make up remover, I use the Almay moisturizing pads. I wear waterproof mascara and it's the only stuff that gets it all off but doesn't rip out all my lashes!

  25. I've been in love with Avon's moisturizing effects eye makeup remover since I was in High School. Not greasy at all and removes everything in a few swipes. Check out the reviews of over 700 people, and 690 gave it 5 stars!

  27. Oh oh oh, let's talk skin and watch me freak out. I can't even go there and here you are all pretty and your skin all glowey. Good for you taking care of your skin. It will pay off when you are older.

  32. I got tired of Birchbox crap and cancelled it. Think I'm going to sign up for the Glam bag. My favorite eye makeup remover is straight from the jar Vaseline. I wear waterproof mascara, because my eyes tear a lot. The Vaseline takes it off no problem. Probably the best and cheapest beauty item I've ever had!

  33. I tried Glam Bag... I'll do a post soon about my thoughts.
