Ball Jar Storage

Are y'all sick of my damn bathroom yet?
Good because I still have a few projects left for this room and I'd hate to bore y'all :)
At least something beside obsessively weighing myself is going on in here.
In fact I've divorced my scale for a while. No worries, I'm still working out like a crazy person and eating healthy.
{Munching on some apples and Bee's Knee's right now. HOLY CRAP is that stuff good.}
I just needed a little break. It can get really overwhelming when you just hang around the same number for the 456th day in a row.
Hopefully the next time I decide to step on it I will be surprised....in a good way.
My focus right now is trying to LISTEN to my body, am I tired? Am I hungry? Am I too sore?

Unless you have been living under a rock, or just don't have a Pinterest account, I'm sure you've seen these.

Last time I was at IKEA they had these pallet looking things for 2 bucks.

I really had no clue what to do with it, but who passes that up for 2 bucks?

I'm glad I bought it because it came in handy when I needed some storage for my bathroom.

I attached the ball jars {vintage, bought from Good Look, Inc, for you local gals} with pipe fittings.

I've had several emails asking about how to get a hole through the metal pipe fittings. If your drill is not strong enough {I borrowed a neighbors super strong one} use a thick nail and hammer to punch out a hole first and then attach it will a screw and drill. Hope this helps!

Great for holding my makeup brushes.

Lipsticks and q-tips.

Much prettier than the ugly plastic thing that sits on your counter!

I also came across these cuties for a buck at a thrift store.

A little spray paint and some cute Target plates.....

Just realized that like most of my polish is pink.
What can I say? I heart me some pink :)

And just because my mini me is adorb.

She LOVES to jump on my computer as soon as I walk away.
Most of the time it has me google-ing ways to fix something she did to my MAC.

Happy Tuesday!

  2. I have recently found your blog and I just have to say, you are soooooooooo inspiring! I found you via a weight loss search, but I just love how you decorate too! Your ideas are great! Loving the bathroom re-do!

  3. 1. SO not tired of your bathroom project. That pallet storage thinger is adorable!! I can't wait to see how those cabinets turn out!
    2. What's Bee's Knees? Is it a kind of honey? Peanut butter?
    3. She is so cute! I love how serious she looks in her glimmery cape!

  4. Those jars are adorable! What a great idea! And love the candlestick holders and Target plates.

  5. I *love* the Ball Jar storage for the bathroom! So cute!

  6. LOVE the new storage! Very creative!

I hear ya on the scale situation. Ugh. I've been at the same number (or up 1 lb, down 1 lb.) since January. Super annoying!

Here to some downward scale movement soon! :)

  7. I love this idea! Great storage and it keeps your counters from being cluttered! Plus who does not love a project that includes bell jars.

  8. I love the pallet and ball jars idea!! So cute!

Madison looks adorable!! You're brave to let her touch your computer. I won't let my kids within 3 feet of mine. Ha!

  9. I LOVE what you did with the jars! SO cute and so practical!

  10. I love the storage idea!! I could see this in so many rooms in my house!

  11. Oooooh - awesome! You're a genius, I love the way it turned out :)

  12. OMG, that is the cutest photo of Miss M. And I really like what you did with that pallet. It's so original and resourceful!

  13. Dude--like seriously. You rock as a weight loss blogger and you ROCK even more as a home improvement/DIY blogger. Geez, is there anything you can't do? I'm super impressed at this project...I'm gonna make you come re-do my whole house! And update us soon on the diet/working out...I miss that!

  14. I am super impressed! I wish I had your skills at decorating and DIY.

  15. Ikea?? Seriously?? Oh my gosh, these are perfect for the theme of my basement, thanks for sharing!!!

  16. Wow, your new project looks like it's out of a Pottery Barn catalog! It's awesome. Don't you just feel great when you make bathroom changes?

I'm an obsessive scale junkie also, not because I'm trying to lose weight, but just maintain at a healthy place. We all know muscle weighs more than fat, so if I drop a couple of pounds, first I think about my stress level then about my workouts. If I haven't pushed myself or shook up my workouts, I know it's not fat, it's muscle loss.

  17. I was bored at work, pinning away on Pinterest & someone pinned Mama Laughlin's blog. I've been reading her blog then I saw your guest post on her blog. I've been reading your blog now for hours. I love it! I've run half marathons & can totally relate with so many things you talk about. I'm a single Mom and work full time it's hard to find time to work out I have a 5 year old lil boy sometimes he grabs hot wheels as weights and joins me in the Jillian DVD's. I used to feel guilty working out a few times a week but it makes me a better Mom & like you said sets a good example. I'm happier and have more energy to go play in the yard after.

    I'll be back to

  18. I stumbled across your blog & my work would not be happy to know that I've been reading it for hours! lol I love it! I've ran 4 half mar's also & they're such a rush, love them! I'm super impressed with your time of 2:03 & I had to giggle at the sign of "if you pass out I'll pause your garmin." And the non runner/fitness friends being annoyed with your posts. I'm on Instagram only (no fb) but sometimes I post my times too! :) My next race is October & I'm hoping badly for a sub 2 time! I go in slumps with working out but I always feel best when it's a part of my day. My lil boy grabs his hot wheels & does Jillian Micheal's DVD's with me (sorda) haha.

I'll be back to read :)

  19. ahhhh omg looove the jars!! we have a TON of blue vintage ones we used for our wedding... this could be worth taking them out of storage for!! I am obsessed with your projects :)

  20. Love this!!
    This is adorable!

  21. My four year old just looked at your blog and asked me of your "mini me", "Is that a PRINCESS?" I said, "Yep." Love the pallet storage.

  22. Hey,
So I got a wood pallet, mason jars and hose clamps, but I cannot figure out how you attached the jars with the hose clamps onto the wood.
Can you PLEASE let me know what you used?

  24. i cant attach mine either! please share your method :)

  25. i cannot get mine to attach either! please share your method :)

  26. Each time I used to always check blog posts within the first hours in the break of day, because I like to get information increasingly more.
    is bubblegum casting legitimate

  27. Just a tip for your readers that are buying supplies. The "pipe fittings" are actually hose clamps. If you go into the hardware store asking for pipe fittings, it might take a while for them to realize what you mean.

  28. How do you remove the jars to wash?

Make my day and leave me a love note!
