Summer Edition!

It's my 2 favorite things about summer.

I bought this heart shaped planter WHILE I was in labor with Miss Madison.  My Mom and I were shopping in Canton and my water broke and I was having contractions, but I told her I needed to go and buy this before we went to the hospital!

Yes it took me this long to put flowers in it, but it looks so pretty now! I love colorful flowers for summer.

Chubby babies in swimsuits!

With sunblock all over their cute face.

I have a feeling this is going to be a great summer for us!

Thanks to The Undomestic Momma for hosting Top 2 Tuesday!!  I'm also linking up to one of my favorites ~ Always Nesting ~ Marla has a wonderful blog please make sure to check her out for Woo-Hoo wednesday!

Cure for a bad day.

Yesterday was just NOT my day. Nothing went right. Ever have one of those?  Well, here is my cure.

Find a nice restaurant by the water. This one is great if you live in Dallas, check it out.

Invite the grandparents to entertain the baby.

Make your husband take a shower so he's pretty to look at.

Break your diet for Cold Stone Creamery's Flavor of the Month. sooooo good!

Funny story- we were walking by this restaurant and there was a guy playing music out front. Madison stopped and started dancing and the people there started egging her on.  She loved it and was giving them a little show. What am I going to do with this little girl?  Apparently she has no fear about being in front of a bunch of people.

So that's my cure and I felt much better when I came home and went to bed.  Today is a new day!

Top 2 Tuesday

Top 2 items under $15.

I have a secret.  I am addicted to chewing gum.  My favorite is Extra because the flavor lasts longer and I'm sorry to say the I am a chomper.  It's just so gooooooood!  It drives my Hubs batty and he will get a piece and chomp it in my ear.  So mature :)

My second is the reusable shopping bags from Home Goods!  I LOVE LOVE LOVE these bags because they are huge, pretty, and only a $1.   When I go grocery shopping these are a lifesaver because I would much rather lug in 2 of these then 40 plastic bags.  Oh, plus it is good for the Earth and all.

Miss Madison had decided to stick out her tongue when I say 'smile!'.  I'd really like to know who is teaching her this stuff!!

Check out Undomestic Momma to join in the fun!

Big plans this weekend!

Happy Weekend! I have no tests to study for this weekend so I've decided our kitchen needed a new color.  I decided to go brighter, but needed some help to reach the 8ft ceilings so I called my awesome brother Ben to come and help!  I told him there was NO way I could get above the cabinets so could he PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE come and do it for me.  He agreed because no boys can resist my charm :)  Oma also said she would come and help so hopefully it gets done fast because I'm not sure how long I can keep Miss Madi out of the kitchen.

We had a great Friday!
Breakfast as La Madeline.

Found a new park.

Met up with Aunt Katie by the lake for some lunch and shopping.

Well, I better go get prepped before all my help gets here!

Top 2 Tuesday

I'm feeling depressed from all the math homework I've been doing, so I decided to join a new party and have some fun before bedtime!
Check out

My absolute favorite beauty product is with out a doubt is Big Sexy Hair ~ Root Pump Plus.  I have flat, boring, and did I say flat, hair!  I know many many girls are chained to their flat irons, but I want big beautiful sexy volume. This product helps get me there!

My second favorite product is actually new to me from an AWESOME friend who feeds my beauty product addiction. :) It's Too Faced~ Lash Light Mascara.  Sounds cheesy, but it has a light in the top that shines on your lashes and a mirror on the bottom so you don't have to bend over the entire sink counter and get your shirt wet!  Plus if the power goes out I can still rock some mascara. Just sayin'.

Miss M is ready for summer in her swimsuit.  I was nice and blew up a pool for her just in time for her to take a nap. It was a big pool.

Addicted to Diet Coke.

So you guys know about my ongoing journey to lose the baby weight, right? Well I have reached the halfway point and it's not quite as easy as the first half. Not that it was a walk in the park by any means.  I have to make changes in different areas, like drinking water. Like A TON of water. Daily.  I loved my Diet Cokes and they are were a little treat with 0 calories! Score! Well, it turns out not so much.  I came across this and thought I would share with the other Diet Coke lovers out there.....

#1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. <---Yeah, that's almost EVERYONE!

#2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is mistaken for hunger. <-- I know this has been me!

#3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as 3%. <---Wow, I wonder how much it slows down when your REALLY dehydrated?

#4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study. <-- Wish I had known this during my cleanse, I went to bed HUNGRY every night.

#5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue. <--- Hmm I thought it was just the 6am wakeup call everyday from Miss Madison.

#6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers. <--- My back does hurt....

#7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.<---What about trouble for Math in 1324? I must be severely dehydrated!

#8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%., and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.

Are you drinking the amount of water you should drink every day?

#1. In many states the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from
the highway after a car accident.

#2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke and it will be gone in two days.

#3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the 'real thing' sit for one hour,
then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.

#4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers:
Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.
#5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble
away the corrosion.

#6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Apply a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.

#7 To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of Coke into the load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.

The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. It will dissolve a nail in about four days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase of osteoporosis.

To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial trucks must use a hazardous Material place cards reserved for highly corrosive materials.

No more soda!~ and just so you don't get depressed about it heres a cute photo to cheer you  up!
Would you like my purple egg??

Go outside and play!

When I was young, not THAT long ago, my favorite memories are of playing outside and riding my bike with my brothers and sister.  We stayed outside as long as we could, we did NOT sit in front of the TV or video games.

I have noticed in my neighborhood that most of the kids are never outside! Why?  We live outside of the city in a nice, quiet, no traffic neighborhood.  The houses are on 1 acre lots most with swing sets and yet I never see any kids on said swing sets!  I take Miss Madison outside every day to play even before she could even walk.  I want her to be active and enjoy the outdoors, so for her birthday I made sure Gammy knew what Miss M needed. Madi would point to it on the computer screen and we would email it to Gammy as a hint. :)

Grandparents are the best!

I didn't see this one online, but Gammy said she saw it at the toy store and knew she would need it! It's a water splashing table and, yes, she does love it.

This is a 'swing' set and climber from Little Tykes. Miss M is so helpful she would pick up parts and walk off with them.

Daddy got it all put together. Miss M mastered the climbing wall, of course, and I decided the swing sucked and she would outgrow it too soon.  Now we are 'debating' who's gonna take it apart so I can exchange it!  Daddy says it not going to be him! We shall see about that...

See there are perks for letting the kids out of the house to wear themselves out!

Happy Birthday Miss Madison

Happy 1st Birthday Miss Madison!
We sure have come a long way from the little 5pd 11oz little squirt you were.  Mommy and Daddy love you!

Happy Friday, Birthday, Easter!

Good Morning! We have a full weekend here at our house. Miss Madison is turning 1 on Easter Sunday! Her friend is also turning 1 and is having an "April Showers" themed Birthday party, how cute is that??

I just thought I would come and post a cute video of Miss M to start your weekend off right! She picked up a new 'trick' and pretty much wanted to do it for an hour while I sat on the floor with her.

Wishing everyone a Happy Easter with your loved ones!
