Really? Randy Travis?

First of all I just want to say that Oliver and I don't ever listen to country music. Not that we don't like it just that if we have a choice it's never country. Back long long ago when I was preggo my mom sent me a blog with some 'baby' friendly music on it. Being the good soon-to-be Mommy I was I burned them to a cd. The very first song is Amazing Grace sung by Randy Travis.

His voice has hypnotized my baby!! EVERY time I put that song on she stops crying, but if I let it play to track 2 she starts to whimper and I have to replay it again and again. I have never seen a baby react to music this way! Granted I have not been around many babies, but this seems odd to me. This is a video because of course many of you think I'm crazy so I attempted to get proof. The video sucks because you can't see her face, but you can hear her cry and then stop when I play the music.

McKinney Flea Market

Friday! At last! We super duper love Fridays because it's SHOPPING day! Grandma found a flea market up the road from us. They have a mixture of crafts, antiques, and of course some junk. I found the cutest rug!!!

Here is Miss Madi 'riding' up front, as usual.

Enjoying our new stroller, however shortlived!

Poor Miss Madi! We have to fit her in under the new rug. It was a tight squeeze.

My ceiling fan!

So Miss Madison spends so much time staring at the ceiling fan I thought I should at least make it interesting to look at. I found directions at Angela Pea

So while she took a nap I lugged in the ladder and took off the blades. I'm not very crafty so I took them to Grandma's house for a little help.
Here we are at the fabric store. By the way if you are ever in Dallas you need to check out the fabric warehouses off Midway they are A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!
Photobucket

Here the directions said to use a sharpie on the edges, but I'm so impatient I just got some gold paint and brushes.
Photobucket

This is my Mom having WAY too much fun! You can vist her Suzie Button Creations she always has good projects going on!
Photobucket

We traced and cut out the sticky stuff (yeah, I can't recall the name of the stuff we bought it at Joanne's)(THIS IS MEGAN'S MOM, SUZIE BUTTON, IN MEGAN'S LAYOUT PAGE ADDING LINKS AND FIXING MISTAKES AND THE "STICKY STUFF" IS ULTRAHOLD HEAT N' BOND, he,he!) and ironed it to the fabric.

We cut it out and ironed it to the matching fan blade.

After all of our hard work Miss Madi just loved it! This is how she looked after watching it awhile....

Daddy's girl?

Miss Madison was tricking Daddy into thinking she was a Daddy's girl, but we all know who she saves her big smiles for. I was cleaning the house and I happened across Oliver's room and this is what I found....

Flashback

Miss Madison is 14 weeks old today! I was watching her play in her exersaucer and she was swatting and grabbing things like a big girl. I wanted to post a flashback to the day after she was born. She is so tiny and cute! I guess one good thing about her getting bigger is that she fits into her clothes now.

I'm losing my mind.

It's officially happened. I've lost it. Pregnancy brain was a convenient excuse for most of the last year, but what about now? First I "lost" my keys and had to take my Mom's car home. Oliver said it was fine if I moved in with her, punk. They turned out to be in the bedroom. Several times in the last few weeks I hunted for my keys while they were already IN my hand. Today was great, I left the house wearing my flip flops that are meant for home NOT going out in public. I was halfway to the mall when I looked at my feet and was like 'what the heck am I wearing'! Meanwhile Miss Madi looked like a supermodel baby, of course.

When went walking at the mall with our new friends Lauren and Avery. Avery is such a good girl she puts Miss Madi to shame! Madison had to be fed twice and took a 10 minute nap and finally had a meltdown. All within two hours! If she wasn't so darn cute I'd leave her at Grandma's house. She knows all the tricks. I took her out to the car while she was screaming and fed her. After two minutes she starts to coo and smile at me. Brat! Here are some more cute pictures to tide you over.

Happy Happy 4th 4th!!

Madison is 3 months today! Whaaaa my baby is getting so BIG! So today was her first 4th of July and my baby was ALL decked out in her patriotic gear.
Photobucket

We went for a visit to see Aunt Gail and her pretty remodeled kitchen (I was in so much kitchen envy!) and then met Oma and Opa at Grandma's house for a cookout. Madison had a great time swimming with everyone in her new swimsuit.

Headbands

So I am fanatic for my Babycenter website. I am on it all day (mostly while I nurse) and love to see how other mommies with April babies are getting along. Recently a few mom's showed headbands they made for their baby girls and I was inspired to try it myself! They turned out very cute if I do say so! My Mom (aka Martha) was even impressed. Miss Madison will have a headband for every occasion.
